Lift kit suggestion

Hi there,

I live in a country where most of the off-road I get to do is driving through sand in the deserts. I'm looking to lift my Jeep 2.5" to perform better and clear 35" wheels. I also commute about 60 miles everyday.

Lift kits available to me here are Teraflex, Procomp and Skyjacker, and prices are fairly similar. I've read around on the topic and I'm leaning towards Teraflex (read it's solid off-road and good highway drive) but, since I have little experience, I'd appreciate to get some more opinions.

There's also a garage here which makes their own springs; the guy said it's heavy duty, outperforms the ones available in the market, and he keeps the stock shock absorbers. Not sure how take that.

Hope to hear back, take care!

PS: Jeep's a '08 2-door Wrangler Sahara

I couldn't find any info on the Procomp or Skyjacker (only saw a 3.5 inch kit) but I would go with the Teraflex, assuming it is this one Teraflex 1251002 - TeraFlex 2.5" Lift Kit with Shocks for 07-13 Jeep® Wrangler JK 2 Door - Quadratec , based on price and the parts that are included in the kit.

I would definitely stay away from the local source as there are too many variables to take into account for suspension parts, especially those that are as important as the springs. Part of the cost of suspension kits is for the research and developement behind the different components that go into any given kit.

Another option you may look into is a one inch spacer kit along with trimming the fenders and possibly wheel spacers. If you can do this, it will keep your center of gravity low and lower the chance of roll over on the sand dunes.

You're right. I don't know anybody that can vouch for the guy so I'm pulling out of that option.

@Rtone1583 and Raiderfan001,
Thanks for the input, I did go with the Teraflex lift kit. Guy at the garage tried to sell me Fox shock absorbers, but I opted for Teraflex because of the commute.

Backed out of the 35"s, too, going for 33".
