I'm new to the jeep scene and I just got a 2017 wrangler unlimited big bear and I'm looking to add a lift kit mostly for looks I won't be doing any off road or very little. I want to retain stock ride quality but I want to go taller I been looking at the 2in mopar and the 4in also and the 2.5in aev lifts is there anything better or something else I should be looking at also would I need to buy anything additional from the lift kit to make sure jeep rides and handles like stock again mostly a daily driver so I want something that will give me stock ride quality or better.
This is working well for me. I'm running 33's, which look perfect with 2" but could go bigger for looks but it would likely rub off road. Good deal this month with rebates.
Works great off road too!

What size tires? You size the lift based on the tires you plan to run. On stock tires the lifts you mentioned are all too tall to have a good look. Are you going to add any aftermarket bumpers or a winch? If you aren't adding any weight, you might want to stay with the stock springs and consider a budget boost.
thanks i'm thinking 35in. and on the aftermarket bumper and winch i do plan to do so in some time. i'm more worried about the lift for now and i just pulled the trigger on the mopar 2in lift now i'm just trying to decide if i should get the aev geo correction brackets
thanks for all the advise everyone i went with the molar 2in lift kit with the rev geo brackets and the ticket thompson classic 3 rims with there 35in tires hopefully this week i will install and upload some pictures. any oversized tire carrier to be able to handle the weight of the new rims and tires. my next upgrade will be steel bumpers I'm looking at the Smittybilt XRC Modular M.O.D. Bumper with the stinger bar
I am assuming this is the part number you went with: Part no. 77070095AC
If this is true then you might want an adjustable front track bar. But I would install the lift the first and see how far off center you front axle is, some people don't seem to mind having it off a little.
Can you post before and after pics please? Good side on pics, to see the difference well? I'm also considering the Mopar 2". I have the maxcare lifetime warranty, so limited to Mopar stuff or cancelling the warranty.
Not sure this will help, but the RK 2.5" lift I have ended up being closer to 3" and that seems very good for 35s (actual 34") running stock fenders. I was thinking of getting flat fenders (eventually), but right now I am thinking the tires may look a little small with flat fenders.
Teraflex 2.5 coil 125100 sitting on 285/70/17. Didn't go bigger on tires because I still have stock 3.21 gears. Going to defeat and go 35s at some point.
No correction brackets yet. Rides and drives great. I haven't had an alignment Done, I only recentered my steering wheel. Before I get brackets I am going to have my buddy throw it on his machine and check the caster numbers out.
Paid 700 for the kit and I am extremely happy with it.
Looks good and drives likes stock. 75mph down the highway and it tracks perfect.
I'm thinking the same. I would go with the mopar 2" lift kit and the mopar big brakes. Have the jeep dealer do it for you. Most of these people are quite savy with mechanics. It sounds like you arent. Im not either. Since you spent so much already, better to have everything under warranty. I was quoted $8500 all in for 35 toyo $240 rims, etc..The only thing I wouldnt have them do is the large wheel holder. They want $1,200 + labor...I think Ace makes a great one (same as jeep) for $600 + labor will be cheaper..Except performance to drop off. Dont let anyone fool you. Its a V6 tugging giant tires..Better off having that warm & fuzzy feeling of a warranty knowing you canbring it right back to them..
You have never done them? You better do a lot of reading first. Gears are not something you can just adjust easily if they are not right. If they are not right you might not know it till it's too late. But good luck, you have more guts than I do.
I think most people ream out the stock bearings so they can be slipped on and off easily. Then they press the new bearings on once they have the setup figured out. I've never done a gear change though, just watched a few videos and read some articles.
Better to have and not need, then to need and not have. I drive on a lot of dirt roads, only occasionally need to use the lockers, but when I do it makes things much easier. It's funny because I spent a lot of time agonizing over what I should do. Then one day I just decided I would do front and rear and get it over with. Turned out to be a great decision.
thanks now i have to decide what type of lockers to go with need good for on and off road but also want one with the least amount of maintenance lol i know thats a lot to ask for
