Hi all. I have a two week old JKU sport with stock 255/75/R17 tires. My primary ops are daily driving and going to the beach. I will be pulling an 1100 lb SeaDoo to both paved ramps and launching from the beach. That means backing into the surf to launch and retrieve. For now, I'd like to keep stock tires, but my question is this:

How does a lift kit affect towing ability? Is there a lift height point above which it precludes towing? I'm contemplating a 3.5" lift for now with a tire change in a year or so.

Any thoughts or insight from those who operate on the beach are certainly welcome too!

Thanks,
Paul

I have a 700 pound tigershark 640 and a 2.5 inch lift and duratrac 33s. with stock tires it towed great with a 2.5 inch drop receiver. With the 33s i had to get a 4 inch drop receiver for a level tow.

Works great. The short wheel base sucks though and i have to back my back tires into the river lol.

Im looking into making the trailer longer for better launching. Its allegedly homemade anyway.

Just make sure youre towing the trailer level. Its important.

I have hauled a few things with my jeep (5.5 RK lift that I got over 7 inches out of and 37's). And it handles good. Dont see that light of am load being any isue at any lift hight.

Not really, just worse mileage and such. Also you will need a drop hitch other than that not much difference.
