lift points for stands

I am planning on doing my own tire rotation for now on. Two differant places screwed up lugs.

I am in the process of getting a floor jack and stands. Jimbox lowes does not have the jack anymore as far as I can tell.

I will soon have 285/70 17 tires. what lift range will work. 16" 20"?

Can you lift from the diff s front an back? Able to put both jacks under at one time?

Also getting close to brake pad change. So putting up on 4 jacks.

Looking at 3 ton jack and stands. Just not sure on lift hight.

Chances are the 3 ton jack stands won't lift you high enough. My advice would be to get the 6 tons from harbor freight. You can find a coupon in one of the Jeep magazines for $30 for a pair. Make sure you get a floor jack that will lift high enough. I can't remember how high you need. It's ok to jack on the pumpkins. Your jack needs to get pretty high to get the front passenger tire off the ground when you jack on the pumpkin.

The jack stands can go under the frame. I had it up on 4 jack stands when I did my brakes.

I think the jack stand availability at Lowes depends on the store. When looking at the Lowes website, some stores don't carry them. My local Lowes does sell the 3 ton jack stands for about $25 a pair that will raise to 17.5". That height will work for the axles, but I don't think that will be tall enough if you want to support the frame. The local Lowes also sells the 3 ton hydraulic floor jack with a pair of jack stands if that is what you are looking for. If the Lowes near you doesn't carry them, try a different store.

Just changed out springs on my JK. Used a 4 ton jack(21 in. lift) and 6 ton jackstands, all from harbor freight. perfect.
