Lift Question?

Alright so I already know what lift height I want and all that but somethin keeps naggin at the back of my mind. I either heard or read that the max you can go on a JK without having something to do do with "Fatal Angle" is 3" now is 3" THE max or how does that work? I am buyin all my goodies while I am deployed and a buddy is doin the instal for me ask a thank you kinda thing. I just don't want him to run into any troubles...

Thanks,
Hammer Down

A 3" lift is getting close to the fatal angle...there's really no solid line of demarcation. Some say you can go to 3.5" before your front ds will be at too much of an angle. I've read of folks who got 3"+ of lift and had no problems, and others who wound up with a seized ds. It could happen after a month, a year, or never.

My advice: If you go 3", don't worry about the driveshaft; if you go over, I'd buy a new one. If you decide to buy a new one, you'll want a 1310 JE Reel, Tom Woods, or Coast.

Over 3 and your looking at having to extend the driveshaft. Stick with 3inches and you'll be gravy other than brake line relo's or extensions but that should come with the kit.

Teraflex told me 2.5" was fine. Three inch and you need to do something different on the front driveshaft on the four door.
