What is least amount of lift that I need, to be able to run 285-70-17 Duratracs on my JKU? will spacers do ? don't really want a lift as yet.

In my opinion, you don't need any lift for that. I only run 2.5" spacers on my Rubicon with 315/70-17s and wheel the crap out of it without any rubbing issues. I do have Bushwacker flat flares on it though.
