lift versus driveshafts

How many inches of lift can I go without having my driveshafts lengthened?

Under 4" I think you will be okay. How much lift are you planning to add?

2.5"

Sorry about that it is a 4DR and I am going with the Skyjacker 2.5" that comes with the lower control arms. This is my daily driver and I have 3 sons under the age of 5 so I need to stay within reason.

At some level, you are altering your pinion angle, so you WILL shorten the lifespan of your driveshaft, but by how much? At 2.5" (usually end up being closer to 3" front, 2.75" rear with stock bumpers), your change (especially with the 4-door) won't be a huge change, but it will still shorten the lifespan of your shaft. Also to note- your dealership MAY decline a warranty claim on your driveshaft due to a lift- talk to your service advisor about lifts if this is a concern- Mark W.

pinion angles

I figured that because when you raise the transfer case and transmission in relation to the differentials I am changing the pinion angles. Along with this the longer the driveshaft the more angle I have to adjust with, or the more forgiving to incorrect calculations. Thanks for the reminder.
