Lift with all Stock opinions?

I posted yesterday about lift and tires. I found out today that I will not have my full allotted money the wife said I could have something has came up. Will it in yall's opinion look stupid to go ahead with the 2.5 in lift? Either the Teraflex or the Rough Country is what I am looking at. I have an 08 Wrangler X Unlimited with 17in wheels and 255/70r17 Goodyear Wranglers. I will eventually get new wheels and tires or just tires but it maybe next year at this time. I wont in the future be doing any extreme trails. Will it look stupid to ride like this for about a year? If anyone has this set up now I would like to see it also. Thank you in advance!

what is your goal? just want it a little taller for looks? If so I am in the minority but I think stock size tires ie ~32" look good with ~2" lift.

It'll look fine. Besides, there's no sense throwing away your current tires if they are still good.

My 07 X on the same tires you have and a 2" lift. I ran this way for over 6 months before I upgraded tires.

google it. I'm trying to decide a lift and tires for mine and you can google any combination you want and find tons of images, and a lot of those images link to helpful threads

It's really just a personal preference call on your part IMO.

Here's my '13 JKUR lifted, with 155 miles on the clock, sitting at the Discount Tire parking lot getting ready for some 35s. I immediately lifted it in my garage with a Rock Krawler 2.5" Max Travel Pro kit. I netted closer to 3.25" of lift though, so mine will appear higher than what you're estimating.

I don't like the look at all, but that's just me. Plenty of people could run it that way and be happy. Just decide if it works for you.

And to make the wait for new wheels and tires really, really hard:

It still looks like there's a ton of room under the flares, because their is, but the bigger tires and wider stance really balance thing out quite nicely IMO. The flat flares really opened things up for me.

NICE! I like it! I am not sure I will be happy with the look but I have another child on the way in August and if I don't get the lift now I am afraid the wife wont get it in the future. Tires will wear out and thats when I'll make that upgrade! I think I can stomach it for at least a year or so. Thanks for the pictures.

What about a Teraflex Leveling Kit (1155200)? Adds about 2" and can't be beat at $130 for the kit.

Good to know. Sounds like you got a winner.

Congrats on the new upcoming addition to your family. There are only two things that beat out a Jeep: a good wife and children.
