List of Dealers willing to go 2% under invoice?

OK... I know Pat has thrown out a standard deal to everyone by offering any configuration of JK or JKU at 2% under invoice provided you are a member of Tread Lightly. I know there is another dealer north of San Diego who will do the same. The name of the dealer escapes me.

This morning I read on the "2012 and June 2" thread that another poster has a dealer willing to go 2% under.

This prompted me to start a thread (for those of us who have yet to order) with a list of Dealers along with where they are located who have offered and are willing to continue offering 2% under invoice.

I would simply go with Pat... but getting to Chicago would eat up the extra 1%.

If you have a 2% under invoice dealer... please list them here.

Jack Powell Jeep in Escondido CA (North San Diego).

Always seems to ask for 1K deposit but took $500 from me. I had to go through the sales manager to get the initial response..

All dealerships will go 2% under, just ask for the Gen manager of the store. Talk to him (or her) first.

You shouldn't have to leave the state to buy a new car. That is ridiculous.

2% inder invoice is not that extreme.

The most 1% more off will save you on a JK is about $400. Barely worth leaving town for, never mind going cross country.

Ha Ha... I have been dealing with GM. AND... although I have done a TV commercial for the dealership... the GM has not answered my question, "Are you planning to comply with the TL/Chrysler agreement of 1% under invoice or perhaps even 2% as some dealers are?". Granted... I did this in an email... but he usually answers back almost immediately. I have found one other dealer in the area willing to go 1%... but have not asked for 2%. I thought that was rare. I thought I got a good deal on my 2008 when I got it AT invoice. ;-)

Just as insurance I emailed a total of 6 jeep dealerships within hour of my house. 4 resounded within hour saying 2%. One said 1%. One I got no response.

Cool ... I sent the same email here about 2 weeks ago simply asking about the TL 1% discount.

I think I sent it to 4 dealers. One said YES... I just got autobot emails from the other 3... saying something like "Thank you for your interest, blah blah blah".

Certainly. Once home from work. Nothing special. Just couple of lines. Real basic. Another option is few hours after sending email call dealership and ask to speak to Internet sales. That's what I did for two years and can easily get 100 emails a day. With 95% being useless. So a follow up call goes a long way. Mentioning you own wrangler in email helps I think.

I called 4 dealers within an hour of my house asking for 2% below - it took 2 days to get solid answers (this surprised me since I told all of them I was ready to buy "today"), but i rec'd the following responses:

-one 1% below invoice plus NO doc fee,
-one 1% below with ~$350 doc fee,
-one $300 ABOVE invoice with a promise to move me to the front of the line anytime I had to have my Jeep serviced (I kid you not! And, this was in spite of the Tread Lightly affiliate program .... )
-one 2% below with ~$240 doc

I took the fourth offer seeing as though it's only 4 miles from my house.

I thought this would be difficult and cleared my schedule for the day to travel from dealer to dealer. The first dealer I went into, I told the sales person my terms he looked at me kind of cockeyed, said he needed approval, came back within a minute and said ok.

Tread Lightly, 2% under invoice no doc fee.

I guess I need to start emailing some dealers here in the Dallas area. After lurking and following this entire thread, I feel, for some strange reason, like I need to order a 2012 JKU. Tthis thread and all the information contained is just outstanding.

Fan of fanboys...

Years ago I wrote a very convincing "justification" to purchase a rather expensive piece of engineering equipment. My co-workers were amazed that the guy that had to approve the request... did just that. Several of them asked me for my justification so they could try as well. This is where I got the idea to ask for your email. Sometimes it just takes a different approach. Sorry for the long story. ;-)

Stopped by MY dealer today... surprised to find that the GM, his assistant and most of the salesman have all been moved to their failing Toyota dealership. The new GM, his assistant (both came from their Subaru lot) and none of the sales people had heard of TL. Very frustrating. I had to direct them to this site and the many informative threads. The previous staff (GM included) were all Jeepers! Sad... but I asked for 2% under anyway. The new GM seems like a good guy... said he needed to read up on TL, check their Jeep model margins and would get back to me later this week.

If dealerships are already discounting 2012's 2% how much are they able to go down on the 2011s? It seems that they are going to have to discount an additional 4-5k to get people to take the 11's. What is reasonable?

I'm retracting this because the dealer has exceptionally poor communication skills. They will take the 2% but do not expect communication after the order nor friendly service. When I communicate it is as if I am putting them out of thier way and giving them a heavy task.

Douglas County Dodge/Jeep in the Atlanta metro area.

Talk to Steve (internet manager) -- he gave me:
(Invoice Price) - (100% of Holdback) + $100

I believe holdback is 3% for Jeep; which amounts to 3% under invoice

Talked to a dealer today who had not heard of T/L. When he looked it up he offered 1% but he wanted the $75 fee. We have not talked doc fees, make ready, ect.

My deal was not meant to be the best deal out there. It was meant to be a no bs, easy, straightforward deal that is more than competitive. Sure there are dealers that will match or beat my deal by a little bit.

I've always said that my approach to my "Friends and Forum" pricing was to take out the negotiating, the back and forth with a salesperson and to make it as easy as it can be to buy a Wrangler, thus making the whole experience a little more enjoyable and in the long run hopefully educate some of you on how the car business works, what to watch out for, and how to make sure you are getting the right answers.
When I first joined this forum it was for me to get an education on lifts, backspacing, wheels, tires, lights, etc. I learned a lot from Daggo, jimbox, ibuildembig, mth, infernogirl and a bunch of others. I also found myself answering a lot of product and pricing threads. That's when I decided to become a vendor and get an ad banner in rotation. It's been a lot of fun that's for sure and I've met a lot of really cool people because of it.
To answer the OP, any dealer should do the 2% under, and not charge the $75 chrysler doc fee if they charge a dealer doc fee. Just make sure you look at the whole picture and make sure you are buying from a dealer that shows their respect and gratitude after the sale.

Better than 2% under on many - just depends on the unit - HUNTINGTON BEACH Chrysler JEEP. For example, right now they have a 2011 black Sahara with an MSRP of $30,430 that they're selling for $22,988. You have to be a lessee of something to get a $1000 of that, and you have to be Military to get $500, but otherwise, it's just their discount on top of rebates. I've bought more'n one Jeep from these people this year, and the internet guy (Samir) is easy and pleasant to deal with, and they come through with what they say. (and, altho I hesitate saying it, they have given me the lessee and military discounts even tho I'm not, because I do buy more vehic's than the average person)

There was a $55.00 doc fee, and that was all.
