I asked all the typical questions here about what lift I should go with... but I can say that it is easy to get confused on which way to go...as a noob.
I knew that I wanted to maintain pretty much the same ride that I had stock, so I was able to glean from the posts here that a spacer lift was the way to go.
I do go off road a bit when I go fishing in Big Bear (CA) and the monthly venture on some fun trails, but I knew that a spring lift was not for me (at least for now).
So I went with a 2.5 Budge Boost from Teraflex. The lift gave me that exact stance I wanted. But that is not where the story ends.
Not knowing I would go with after market bumpers when I first got my JKU or at the time of the lift, I was a little disappointed at the sag that occurred when I finally did.
Once again I came on here and found a way around the situation I had put myself in by not knowing exactly what I wanted.
So I now have a set of JK Manufacturing ACOS adjustable coil over spacers. I can now see that I should have started here to begin with. It allows for the stock ride (if not better... don't ask me why) and it also allows for adjustment if you end up getting heavier bumpers or even a winch.
My stance is better than it was and I love the fact that I can now adjust for most any change I might make in the future. I will also be able to add a bit of lift if and when my springs get older and sag.
My BB lift kit (front and rear) ran $260.
The ACOS unit it runs about $252. For just another $80 or so you can get the rear spacers and have a very nice and front adjustable lift. The ACOS will adjust up to 3" if needed.
I hope this helps someone make a more informed choice than I did.
I am selling the 2.5 spacers in the classifieds.
