I went from a black 2009 Unlimited to a red 2013 Unlimited. Black can be a chore to clean and it gets quite hot. Other colors seem to handle both better. Everyone at work asked me why I didn't get black again because "it looks freaking sweet". I guess black Jeeps are a crowd-pleaser. All said and done, I like flame red, which is the color of my Jeeps previous to the two recent black ones...

Every vehicle I've had has been either black or silver. Last two vehicles were silver, so went with black when I got the Jeep. My wife liked the black because of the black top which wouldn't match on silver.
If I was going to do it again, I would've either gotten silver or orange. I like the recent 2013 billet silver.
I like black when it's new, shiny, and clean. When it's dirty and scratched from wheeling, wish I had gotten another color.
I have had many black motorcycles including my new Harley Roadglide and a black Camaro and a black ford pickup. I will never get a full size black vehicle again. Too much work and scuffs that don't show on a light color stand out on black. If it is a garage queen/mall crawler no big deal if you take it on one trail that has brush and overgrown vegetation nada. I do think when clean and waxed they look great, they just look tough too soon if used.
I regret getting a black Jeep. You will understand when you take it offroad and you start getting scratches. Every flaw is clearly seen. It's rewarding, sure, but it looks like crap when its dirty (every other day).
I really wanted a white one but when I saw all black with black wheels at the dealer, I had to have it. I'm not OCD, so it stays dirty most of the time. But when I do decide I want it to look good, a quick wash and that black REALLY shines. I think a big upside to black is when you feel like putting aftermarket stuff on it, it always matches no matter what it looks like. Want to put new fenders on it, you don't have to repaint under the aftermarket ones or black out wheel wells.

Scratches, heck I have a hard time just seeing the road. I think that maybe, I am spending more time in the ditch than I should be. Boy am I every glad that I have 4 wheel drive, It really saves on the tow bill's.............I guess that I am just confused again, or still.........
My guess...it came with a hard top (so possible stiffer springs in the rear). With the top removed, no soft top, and no passangers in the back....the rear end sits up higher.
X2. when I removed my hardtop and put on the soft top I got about 1/2" more lift in the rear on my jku. I have a 3/4" coil spacer in front so is about level but without the spacer my rake would be like that.
I have a black Commander and it drives me nuts keeping it clean. I swore I would not buy another black vehicle. I looked long and hard at the black JKU's and then almost pulled the trigger on black. I held out and ordered Billet. All the light scratches the show like crazy convinced me.
Why is you back end so high? Or front so low? No winch or after market heavy bumper pulling it down.
You know, I really never noticed it until I posted that picture. I don't know if it is just the way it was sitting, or what. I just went out and checked and the back is about an inch higher than the front (roughly, tire to fender difference) where it is sitting.
Maybe a load-leveller that I didn't know about?
my Compass Rallye is black...and it's the last black vehicle I'll own (in fact I've told my roommate he's never allowed to sell me another black one) in the 5+ years I've owned it - it's been washed maybe 6 times. Mainly due to frustration with its inability to stay clean for more than 30 minutes.
I may in fact be living with black. It is my favorite color but indeed it is a love hate relationship. My problem is actually finding the JKU. I'm having a hell of a time finding a pretty basic sport with auto and 3.73 gears for a decent price.
I've gone through 6 dealerships in the middle tennessee area and most don't even call me back. It's a little hard to believe quite honestly. They don't want to search and they seem to have little interest in ordering anything. Maybe it's because the 2014's are around the corner but unless you want to pick up something already sitting on their lot they pretty much don't give a crap.
About two hours away I found a sport auto with 3.73's for my price range. And it's black.
2013 Wrangler Sport S. Max tow, 3.73, connection package, power package, upgraded Alpine, Rough County stubby bumper mod, Rugged Ridge light bar, Ace rock sliders, Rough Country 2.5" lift, 15" MB TKO's, 33" Duratrac's, Spiderweb Shade.
BLACK!!! Its the only color I've ever ordered in a new vehicle and love it. It is well worth the extra effort in keeping it clean. My opinion it looks the best out of any other color when clean and the worst when dirty. So I keep mine clean.
