I have had no less than 4 black motorcycles, 3 black pickups, and now own a black Mustang GT. I also live 2 miles from pavement. Wouldn't have it any other way. I have also had some other colored vehicles, including white. IMO; all the other colors look worse than the black when crapped up. White looks cheap, greens and blues show the crud just as bad if not more than the black does, and looks shittier. The worst thing to do to the black is to over do it with chrome. And I see a lot of bikes and pickups that have done just that, and to me, that looks gaudy as hell.
But then; all of this is just my opinion, so it really doesn't matter anyway. If ya like black, go for it, and don't worry about what others think!!! Even if it gets dirty from time to time.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by its clean end!

I work in a place that gets really dusty. A coworker got a black car and hated it because after about a day past a good washing it looks horrible. By contrast, my black Jeep actually doesn't look bad to me at all when it gets dirty. If I were to get a fancy car I wouldn't even consider it, but my Jeep hasn't left me regretting black at all.

In regards to the detailing products, I know a lot of people don't like Turtle Wax but I was given their "Black Box" for Christmas last year and I am very impressed with it.

Don't do it!
Both my CJ7 and Wrangler Renegade were black.
IMO, the Wrangler is one of the few vehicles on the road that one can get in a crazy 'fad' color and it still looks awesome. If anything, I think the crazy colors have more long term value.
Let the Grand Cherokee crowd drive black.
