Lockers trying to engage in 2H?

I have a 2013 Rubicon auto trans. I was using 4L with the rear locker engaged to traverse a small water hole. After switching back to 4H the rear locker light was blinking as usual. I decided to hit the locker switch again and the front light started blinking. I immediately hit the button to disengage and both lights went out, this was while in 4H. Now even after a shutdown and restart the locker lights will start blinking if I try to engage wile in 4H or even in 2H. I haven't left them on long enough to see if they will actually engage or not. Pressing the button again always turns the lights off. Soo, what could be up here? Normally pressing the locker switch does nothing unless in 4L. I haven't tried to go back to 4L and lock and unlock yet, kind off worried they might not disengage.

On my Rubicon if I tried to engage the lockers in 2WD or 4HI, the lights would blink for a few seconds. Kind of like the Jeep was saying "Hey dumbass, you need to be in 4 LO".

They will blink for up to 30 seconds at times. Just activate or deactivate them as they are designed for in 4L and there won't be any issues.

Thanks for the replies, I'm 400 miles from home and was worried about having a stuck locker!

Mine will blink no matter what…… the system is pretty fool proof. You'll be fine.
