Locking Center Console - 2013

I've had my 2013 JKR for about a week now & yesterday was the first time I tried to use the lock on the center console. I had been assuming that it was locked & unlocked using the same key that starts the Jeep but it's nowhere near fitting. Was my Jeep supposed to come with this key? Where would it be?

My 2013 JKUR uses the same key for both center console and the glove box. did you inspect it closely to see if you maybe are not doing something right?

The only keys that came with my Jeep were the ignition key & its spare. Was I supposed to get a different key that goes to the glove compartment & center console?

Don't bother ever locking your console or glove compartment. Never put anything of value in either. A good yank will open and destroy either despite being "locked". It's far better that someone open them and see nothing of value than to not only steal whatever was in there, but destroy the box itself. It will end up being more expensive to repair the damage then replace what was taken.
