Locking storage in rear cubby

I've got a 13 JK with fold and tumble seats so I can't put a lock box under the front seat like I had in my TJ. I really want something more secure than a flimsy glove box or center console to lock up my wallet, gun or whatever else when the need arises. So I thought I'd give the VDP locking storage for that little cubbie hole in the rear a try. It's made for 07-13 models but my guess is that the 13's changed a bit. The directions talked about cutting the carpet but there is no carpet in mine. Just the plastic insert that pulls right out to expose the drain plug. I installed it and the quality is fine, I'm just not happy with the fit. There is a large gap between the box and the rear if I mount it all the way toward the front of the jeep. Also a gap on the sides. So I assume that while yes, it fits, the 13's have a larger compartment that this does not completely fill.

Has anyone used anything better that fits like it was made for this vehicle? I may have to just get the enclosed trunk like this.

I have installed both of the ones you referenced above and am very happy with each of them. You mentioned the plastic insert....I had to cut that to get the cubby to fit properly in the hole in the floor. Here are some pics of how I cut the plastic.
