I'm still curious if there is a simpler way around this? I have a 430

The question is if that wire is even the one coming from the radio. That I don't know, maybe someone has a wiring diagram? If that was the wire coming from the radio, in other cars, you would simply ground it somewhere. Find a screw to grind it into or sometimes you can just tape it off but it could trigger a code. Again my Jeep is new so not sure exactly how it works on this model and unit.

<--- this guy has no business touching wires, so I'll hold off until someone knows the correct fix

Thanks for the info

Couldn't you just pull the ebrake up one click to set off the brake warning light/chime to test this?

Before you go and start cutting and grounding wires.

No that i have thought about this for a second. I would bet its reading speed from the sensors. As it shuts off after 5mph... or something close to that

Most likely yes. I wouldn't recommend messing with any of the wires until you know exactly what they are.

I also wouldn't mess with the wires from that area anyways. I would look for the wire coming from the back of the radio and ground it there. Basically if someone has a wiring diagram of the 430/730 we can probably figure it out. It would involve removing the dash and the radio but that typically isn't too difficult unless you have a 95 Camaro....

Then we would just need to find the wire that goes to the speed sensor. I bet it would make the speedometer on the nav unit stop working though. Some wire to the speed sensor, some to the parking brake, etc. More than one way to skin a cat.

Seems like if this was all it took the Coastal people could figure it out and fix the issue on the manuals!

Agreed. If it's just the speed sensor, then that would at least seem to be transmission independent. However, in this case the issue is that the unit works with the automatic, but not with the manual.

Unless of course the speed sensors some how work differently by transmission type.

Well, still not working. I installed mine over the weekend and all it did for me was add the ability to use the backup cam. The annoying part is if I get a refund, I'm stuck with a reverse cam. The most frustrating part is that even after I told them, they still left this on the website: "WORKS WITH ALL MYGIG RADIOS IN ANY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP INCLUDING MANUAL AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS."

Anyone know if I can use an aftermarket camera and have the dealer program the nav to work. I know it works with the OEM camera...

Dang, was really looking forward to this being my first mod once I get my new Wrangler. Add me to the list of folks waiting for compatibility w/my 2012 6-speed and 730n.

I was thinking about the MyGiG but seeing you guys are having this issue and Coastal won't do anything to resolve it, they won't be getting my $$$. Glad this thread was here!

Update on my situation. I called coastaletech back, there's no ETA on a solution for manual '12 Wranglers, at this point they're not even sure it will ever work (per Ransom). I asked if I could keep the one I had and exchange it if and when a working model came out since I has spent $100 on a backup cam from another company, they said no! I was pissed. They don't want me to have it and in a couple years decide I want a refund. That's a risk they should be willing to take since it was their mistake and they put on their website it works with all Wranglers up to '12 including manual and automatics. Ugh. Sorry, just had to rant.

Edit: they still haven't changed their webiste. They're not very on top of things. "WORKS WITH ALL MYGIG RADIOS IN ANY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP INCLUDING MANUAL AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS - ADVANCED UNIVERSAL COMMUNICATIONS"

Wonder if the Allgig/nav-tv would work on 2012 manual? I can't find much info on them...Seems the lockpick has more functionality, but if it wont work - it wont work.

I have the Coastal paperweight now, but Allgig told me their system would work on the manual tranny. I don't want to be the guinea pig again, so I was hoping someone else had tried them.

I looked at that too, but you have to buy the backup camera harness in addition to the unit and it ends up being $350.

I think anyone who hopes that coastal tech adds manual 2012's to their product line should email support asking them to do so. I got the same email saying they don't support our vehicle and to check back in a month or so. I also told them they should change their website to reflect this and they said they are in the process of doing so. Not looking good.

Same...I actually went a whole weekend with the dash off b/c I was messing with it so much. I returned mine a few weeks ago. It was getting really crazy on me. The radio would shut off completely (no bent pins), the DVD/CD would open every time I turned the Jeep on, etc. Weird stuff. I'm going to give the AllGig a try. It doesn't have any of the iPod features though and it's roughly the same price. Which kinda sucks but since I'm invested in cameras that are already installed, I'd rather use them. It also seems a little less plug and play since you need relays to power the cameras b/c their outputs are low power. Here is what Tony from AllGig said about it: "Our outputs are low-power, so we strongly recommend using a relay that is triggered by our output to physically supply the power to the camera."

Can't stress this enough. As mentioned earlier in this thread, Ransom and Carlos said only six people are complaining about this upgrade.

Agree. I think I mentioned something similar earlier in the thread, but it was definitely worth mentioning again. Email them: support at coastaletech dot com.

I sent another email last night to them, and I also made sure to let them know that their competitors at Nav TV are claiming to have solved this issue.

Ransom claims they are still working on it. Same response I've been getting since November.

Right on fellas...let's keep hounding them.

I would consider allgig...but the ipod functionality of lockpick is a definite plus. MPR131 - keep us posted if you decide to give it a try!

You mean the metal clips right? Ask your dealer or look online. The Mopar Part #: 6505660AA

I'm sure you'll find plenty of options. Should be less than $.50 each

Curious if anyone has any updates? Doubtful I know...just checking in. I get my jeep in a week or so hopefully. Am hoping that lock pick fixes their issue, if they don't soon I'll probably go All Gig.

I emailed them, waiting on response. Probably will get a generic message back.

So let me get this straight. The 2012 JKU auto works. I have the 430N and I looking for a front and rear cam. It must be a plug and play with no firmware nonsense. key things, cam comes on when reverse is engaged and everything works as it did from the factory.

Can you guys chime in with your input?

The rear cam works perfectly for me, but with the CHR550 installed. I would assume that the front/side cams would also work with this lockpick unit, but have not tested.

All the cams will work with the manual as long as you're parked. The rear cam will work while in reverse and moving backward. However, none of the cams work nor does the nav entry while in a forward motion. I was able to get the reverse cam to come on if I double clicked the uconnect phone button. That didn't work every time though. Still bummed this isn't fixed.
