Other than on these forums, I virtually never, ever, EVER see oversized tires on upgraded hinges and tire carriers. It's easily 30:1 stock carrier for huge tires. It has almost made me wonder if we're scamming ourselves out of our own $$ on the forum here. My wife sure gives me a hard time over my upgrade, though all in good fun.
Remind me to never wheel or drive behind someone that hails from Washington. I see the opposite down here - rarely see a 35" or larger on the stock carrier.

I have a 35" General tire that weighs 130 lbs with the wheel, hanging on the back of my Jeep. I can't see the factory hinges being able to support that weight, let alone driving over potholes, across trails, for months at a time.
It always amazes me what people will sacrifice for their rimz.
Just yesterday, my buddy and I were almost hit, by some hoopty with bad shocks that couldn't hold it's lane around a corner, but dam them big O rimz were shining!
Haha. I just put on a tire carrier today. Looks kinda odd with the stock tire still on it. But it's preparation for the upcoming wheel and tire purchase. Maybe the stock carrier is enough but every jostle I'll be wondering if this is the time something breaks.
I see many people on the road sporting 35s with the stock carrier, but 37s on the stock carrier is a first for me. He/she is going to destroy the tailgate over time. 35s will do it over time, 37s sooner than later.
Around here I see most people that have oversized tires just running with no spare no carrier and no third brake light. If you going to take chances without a spare, might as well make it illegal as well!
In many states it is not required to have a 3rd brake light - but if you have one it must be working properly or you can get a ticket. In TN where I live, you are only required 2 working brake lights but you can still get a ticket for a bad bulb in the 3rd light if it burns out.
Not photoshopped. I took the picture in person, didn't find it on the internet.
