Looking at a JK

Hey everybody,
I have started to look for a new jeep! I know they are hard to come by and that i takes along time if you order. but I have a question about them, I have a standard TJ and everybody says thats the way to go, because the automatics just cant stand up if you lift it and plus size tires. OK my question how are the auto in the 07 or how do they predict for the 08 (a 2dr rubicon only thats all I will get or even consider)? I will want to lift it probly put 35 and use it for DD/rock crawl/trail ride. I would like to get an auto but i wont if they wont stand up!!! I will have more questions but that is my main concern right now is the tranny.

Thanks matt

There are no worries about the trannies on the TJ or the JK. The auto's are plenty tough enough to stand up the power of the 4.0 and the 3.8. Newer TJ's and all JK's have a 4 speed auto with overdrive which is nice for highway cruisin and gas conservation.

Get the auto if you want it. You won't be disapointed. I play in the rocks very hard with my 32RH TJ 3 speed auto and it's FINE.

well in the city you probly wont make it to overdrive! it is in a round about way 5th gear so i only get to it at high speeds. but thanks for the info it will be awhile depending on the job situation. also another question do you think there might be a v8 option come out at any time, or what about the crt diesles. thanks
