Looking for a lift kit

I just got a 08 sahara unlimited and I want to get a lift kit. I am looking for a company that makes a 3.5"-6" complete kit. I do not do a lot of off roading so I want a kit that can do some rock crawling and have a somewhat stock ride on the road. I was looking at the Rough Country 6" flex systems, but I heard that their products are not that good. I have started to look at the Skyjacker 4" value flex system, Fabtech 5" short arm system, Rock krawler 3.5" mid arm system, and the BDS 4.5" short arm system. Which one of these kits would be the best choice?

Thanks
Joe

Welcome to the forum. What size tires are you looking to put on? Auto or manual?

That's a lot more work than just lifting it. 2.5-3.5" of lift is good for 35s w/o flat fenders, 4.5-5" for 37s.

Plan for new gears too and driveshafts if you go more than 4". I wouldn't even think of 37s on my sahara without serious front axle work (sleeves, gussets, shafts). 35s will work with your front dana 30 if you keep off the gas.

Plan ahead

Make sure you spend some time looking over the "sticky" at the top of the page called "JK Lift Reviews". That should give you some good starting points.

Also, just fyi, for that big of a lift with those sizes of tires, you're going to have to spend a lot of money on other improvements well beyond the lift.

TDF, first of all, that thing looks incredible.

I'm really curious--if you don't mind sharing--just what went into getting the Jeep to that point in terms of lift, tires, and lift/tire-related modifications (e.g., axles, gearing, trackbar, etc.)? It looks well done and much like the post "vze2372e" had of his build up to 35s, it could be helpful for all the folks who think they can just toss on a huge lift and call it a day.

Also, PLEASE PLEASE tell me it's your daily driver. That'd just be awesome. I wouldn't mind hearing your gas mileage either, if you happen to have it.

It is a daily driver, my girlfriend drives it to work everyday. I drive my truck everyday.

If it's your DD get the TeraFlex 2.5" coil lift with shocks and you can run 35" tires
