Looking for a winch

Just ordered a new XHD bumper for my Jeep with a winch cut out. Can't wait to get it in.

So now I am looking at a new winch. I been looking around and found a good price on a Promark Offroad Midnight Series 8000lb Recovery Winch, formally Gorilla winch. Does anyone know much about these to know if they are any good?

Or is there some other winch out there besides the Warn that anyone likes. I know the Warn is a great winch.

Never heard of them. Warn is the best and worth it if you have the money. My second choice was Superwinch and am very happy with it. Some have gone with the less expensive Smittybuilt and liked them. It is your lifeline so it depends ... how often do you go offroad?

I put a smittybilt xrc 8 comp with synthetic rope on my xhd and love it. Ive submerged it and had no issues, and you can install the winch after you install the bumper, i did it that way.

I have the same bumper and winch. Works just fine.
The earlier versions of the Smittybilt 8s were made by a different vendor and had a different motor as well as solenoid; they were prone to early failure.
The newer ones have a much more reliable history.

I did a search on amazon and found the Warn for $485 with free shipping! My thought was should I spend $300 for the Harbor Frieght 10000lb, Something like the Gorilla for the same $300 or step up for the Warn for the extra $185. I can get a synthetic line for the difference. If you don't go offroad more than a couple times a year, what would you do and why?

That's the same bumper I have but I have the ends and not the hoop overrider. I also have the same winch. I'm looking forward to getting stuck sometime. I have the solenoid over the motor and used the brackets for mounting it over the rope to hold the number plate (sure wish Colorado would not insist on the front plate).
