Looking for a winch mount plate

Just got my Wrangler Unlimited Sport yesterday. First accessory addition will be running boards so my mother-in-law can get in and out second will be a winch.
I'm wanting to stick with the stock bumper so just looking for a plate that mounts to the bumper. I found this one ( Rugged Ridge Rugged Ridge Universal Winch Plate - JCWhitney ) but am a bit suspicious of the price, given it is WAY less than all others I've seen.
Anyone have recommendations? Just looking to be able to go with a "get me out of the Eastern NC mud" winch, not something to lift me up the Cliffs of Dover.

If you're sticking with your stock bumper, I believe Mopar has a winch plate. Haven't checked into it yet.

A lot of people seem to love this set up and they offer a winch plate.

I've stubbied my stock bumper with a VDP stubby kit and am looking into this as a temporary fix until I can decide on the bumper I want.

Think I've narrowed my winch choice down to this one...and it has a $50 rebate through the end of the month.

Check out Harbor Freight, I used there Universal Channel Winch Mount with my stock bumper. It doesn't come with hardware so you'll have to buy your own but any hardware store has grade 8 nuts and bolts.

I have a Harbor Freight winch plate that has already been "notched" to fit behind the frame horns in the forsale section for $20. I'm near Raleigh... not sure where you are in NC.

PLEASE make sure you use GRADE 8 hardware.
You can not use standard nuts and bolts you would be risking an extremely dangerous or lethal situation.

I recently removed my OEM running boards. In 2 1/2 years they never served as a 'step plate' to help get in the JK.

Prior to purchase, check & make sure whatever you end up getting, serves the purpose. My running boards were 'perhaps' a nice styling touch and 'did' keep crap off the sides of the JK. What they didn't do is work as a 'step into the rig' device. Plus, they were too high/too wide and cause other annoyances.

Cheers!

I'm actually looking at "side steps" from Quadratec.
This winch plate ( http://www.quadratec.com/products/12065_1010_07.htm ) says it fits the OEM bumper on the 12 JKU, anyone know if the 12 bumper is any different than the 14? It LOOKS th same in the pics, but that isn't exactly a guarantee....
