Arrow Looking for firewall access in a 2013

I am wiring up my brothers 2013. I need to run an amp wire from the battery but cannot find the access hole in the firewall to the cab. I found it in my 2012 in two seconds but they are different - the hole in the '13 is being used by something. Welp?

There's a big hole under the master cylinder on the '12 w/auto tran, & there should be holes behind the dash end caps.

A lot of people use the foam filled holes behind the dash end caps. Did you check there too?

I just got done running a group of six 16 gauge wires on my 13 manual. If you take the side panel off the dash on the driver side and look towards the front of the jeep you will see a round hole filled with foam. Run a fish tape (I used a coat hanger) through the center and it will come out of a small area along the top of the fender. You can pull two or three wires at a time through there and then fill it with the foam in a can. If you are only running one wire I would suggest a 12 or 10 gauge to power multiple items. I ran the multiple wires to use a triggers for relays to avoid large amperage coming through the firewall.

This is a good topic that might go along with a question I have. Im looking at running some lights .I plan to use a relay under the hood and run low amp control wire back to switch panel. Anyone know if you can get switches like the ones used for hill decent or the hazard flashers in that switch panel ? I would like my aux KC lights to be on a switch in that switch panel so it looks factory .Is it possible to add more switches to that panel ?

The switch question is something I'm interested as well and I have probably a stupid question to add. If you run an Amp directly from battery, won't it always be on?

Nope the amp has a turn on lead which is wired to the head unit that tells the amp to turn on when the car is turned on.

There's a remote wire that comes off the amp that you can splice I don't remember exactly where lets say the radio ? So when the key turns on it turns the amp on / off .

I looked into this a white ago and was told no as its a complete unit....then I didn't look any further. Lol. But don't let that discourage you!

I do like the look of the spod personally.

IIRC there is no room behind most any of the oem switch panels, some even have circuit boards directly behind them. Try something like the Daystar switch panel.

If you are trying to find it from the outside you won't find it. Do as I said above and run the fish through the area I said to. If it won't push through pull it out and angle it to the left. It will come out along the top edge of the fender but under the hood. It is a very small opening and can't possibly be seen until you run the fish tape.

There is one here too, right behind the battery. It's comes out behind the glovebox. The opening is covered by a rubber membrane, you can just push the wires right through it.

Surprisingly, not as scary as I thought. Here are 2 pix with my super secret pass through tool (wire coat hanger) sticking through. Good luck!

The same wires & secret pass through tool as the pic above, but looking from the other side of the firewall.

Little flat head screw driver. Put in near bottom, on the side away from the front of the jeep. Pop it off. Good to go.
