let me try to do this again - obviously doesn't have to be Polk like N2WATER did but great instructions - here you go:

I have to say, I was a little intimidated about the removal of the dash to get to the drivers side mid bass speaker after speaking with Crutchfield and other installers. After I got started, the rave they created about it being difficult was not true.
Simply put, here are the steps I took (by memory) beginning with the passenger side.
To make this as easy as possible, remove quick disconnect for doors and door stop straps to hinge the doors forward; this provides maximum working room.
[*]Remove the glove box... simple squeeze both sides and remove.
[*]Remove side panel. Pry outward and pull to disconnect clips.
[*]Remove the two visible screws that were covered by the glove box and one located on the bottom right of dash next to quick disconnect for door power.
[*]Remove the two gold screws on right side that were hidden behind side panel that hold the speaker box to aluminum frame and one at the very bottom of speaker box for a total of three screws.
[*]Disconnect speaker wire quick connect and remove carefully.
[*]Replace speaker in reverse order.
Removing drivers side mid bass speaker.
[*]Remove center rubber pad located at the top center of dash.
[*]Remove the screw.
[*]Remove the power window controller by prying up from bottom to disconnect.
[*]Remove quick disconnect from controller by sliding the red lock to one side and pressing the release button.
[*]Remove the only visible screw you see that was located directly behind it.
[*]Remove the knee panel below the steering wheel column by pulling outward with your fingers from the top down.
[*]Remove the two screws you see at the top on each side where the knee panel was located.
[*]Remove top of dash... very simple, just lift slowly and make sure the steering wheel column is in its lowest position.
[*]Remove the metal bracket that is located directly behind the knee panel by removing the two bolts. (not sure if that really needed to be done, but I like the ambient light it let in.
[*]Remove side panel in the same fashion as the passenger side.
[*]Remove the screw located at the bottom left side of dash next to door light quick disconnect.
[*]Remove the two gold bolts on the side of the speaker.
[*]Remove the one centered bottom bolt that attaches to the speaker.
[*]Disconnect the speaker wire disconnect. (this is why I removed the center metal bracket).
[*]Pull out on lower dash slowly and flex enough to remove speaker. Pull speaker forward and slide sideways.
[*]Replace in reverse procedure.
Removal of Tweeters
[*]Remove cover of the speaker.
[*]Pull tweeter from speaker mount.
[*]Disconnect tweeter from quick disconnect.
Installation of Speakers in Dash Speaker Boxes
[*]Fill boxes with Poly-Fil (I recommend it, it helps a lot).
[*]Place speakers on boxes (after connecting speakers with quick disconnects from a supplier) with supplied gasket, no need to use the speaker mounting ring. The gasket seals the speaker assembly perfectly.
[*]Screw the speaker in-place with the supplied screws in the four locations.
[*]Replace the other three screws where the cheap speakers were to make box air tight.
[*]Mount to JK
Tweeter Installation
[*]I could not locate quick disconnects for the tweeter, thus I had to crimp and splice the positive and negative wires to the system.
[*]Insert tweeter from inside panel upward and mount into position.
[*]Replace cover.
I purchased the Premium Sound System by Alpine which I could not have been more disappointed in. I elected to purchase the Polk Audio DB6501 for the front and the Polk Audio DB651 for the top roll bar.
***********************Important*******************************
I contacted Polk Audio Tech Support regarding the crossovers that came with the component speakers. I noticed the Alpine factory amplifier has the crossovers built into it; tweeters, mid bass, roll bar coaxial, and subwoofer. Basically a 5 channel system that is pre-adjusted.
The Polk Audio Tech told me not to use the supplied Polk crossovers and to just replace the speakers because the amplifier already has the crossovers built into it and the speakers have a bass blocker built in from the factory.
He said if I wanted to use the supplied cross-over from Polk, I would have to re-wire the JK to a different 5 channel amplifier (bypass the stock Alpine Amp) then back to the speakers, which I did not want to do.

Based on the work above and the sound that came from the new speakers, I am glad I filled all of the boxes with Poly-fil, including the subwoofer. Sealed all of the boxes with adhesive sealant and mounted properly; the sound system is incredible. The Polk's are very efficient and provide enough sound and bass for the neighbors to hear the next block over.
I recommend trying speaker replacement before going onto the next step of new replacement amps and other digital signal processors.
I have attached the following pictures to show how I mounted the speakers.
