Loudest Exhaust

I just traded in my 1998 TJ & got a Brand New 2011 JK 2-door and as the way My friends & I are we can't stand quiet vehicles, so my question is for the cure. What is the best exhaust for the 3.8 v6 to give it a Loud & proud Growel? Because as we all know loud pipes save lives

I have a Corsa DB muffler on my JK & it sounds awesome. I love it. It has a nice rumble when idling & barks pretty loud when you get on it. I just put a Banks Monster system on my wife's JK & I am not at all impressed with it. It's not much louder than the stock system. I am already thinking about getting something else for it. I was watching a youtube clip of a Gibson system & I thought it sounded similar to my Corsa system.

I have the MBRP on my JK. Sounds great! There are some vids on youtube where you can give it a listen.

buddy of mine has a gibson on his 07JKU and it sounds deep and pretty good, but it's got a pretty annoying drone at highway speeds/RPMs, but he's real happy with it and it looks good.

The nice benefit of the Corsa system is their "no drone technology". It sounds good when your into the throttle a little bit. but, when your cruising at a steady speed there is very little niose, even with the top down. Sometimes when I'm coming to a stop, I think the engine shut off because it gets so quiet when your off the throttle.

Check with Borla! Had one on my '00 and I could hear my wife a block away, no kidding!

The exhaust tips are nice, too.

I was considering one for my '10, until I decided to buy a new Jeep in '13. I will def get a Borla for my new Jeep...

The first time my wife drove mine after installing the Corsa I could hear her at least a quarter mile away. I heard her pull away from two stop signs & pull out on to the highway. She was probably on it pretty hard though because she loves the way it sounds.

I have a Corba, but opted not for the ATAK version. I wanted a tuned system that allowed open flow but didn't sound like my '55 with Hollywoods on it. I really am impressed with the quality of the Borla systems. They make them in three 'flavors' - basically, OEM, aggressive, and OMG!! borla.com has some audio clips of some of them - the ATAK is definitely the loudest.

Is this a daily driver? I hope you don't have neighbors if you do. I got a neighbor with a loud exhaust and when he drives that car he wakes me up in the morning too early. If I wanted up at that time I would have set my alarm. Not sure why he doesn't realize how it bothers others

I have a Flowmaster 40 on mine in the stock location and it is not overly loud but has a nice, pleasing rumble. I really like it. It doesn't sound high pitched or anything.

I don't understand why you would put an exhaust on a v6, especially only for the sound.. I was just on youtube and listened to several jk's, and they all sound like a pissed off bumble bee. I think ill keep mine stock.

Just wanted to know if anyone here put on an H or X pipe on this 3.8l motor? If so did u get any more power? I was thinking of getting the magnaflow X/H pipe then doing the rest of the system.

Howdy,
I went on youtube and listened also. I didnt see any flowmaster 60 sound clipe. I have one on my JK and can tell you that it is the deepest sounding muffler for a v6. The best thing is the absence of interior drone. Have a goodun!!!!!!

I had a Borla Exhaust system on my 2008 JKU. It had a deeper tone and looked awesome with the dual exhaust tips.

Here is a video I just made of my Flowmaster, I took it with my phone, but the video quality is pretty impressive. Hopefully Youtube keeps the HD and doesn't try to convert it. Last time I put up a video Youtube messed it all up. You can see heat waves coming off the road in front of the wheel of the car next to my jeep. Only 107 raw here right now. 115 Heat index. So.... you are welcome. I will make one after I get back from running some errands and the engine/muffler is HOT.

Any way here it is, make sure you click on 720HD for the best sound:

As I said above, Here is another one after it is all warmed up. Sounds much better warm. Not quite as tinny sounding and definitely a lot deeper in person. I highly recommend this muffler to anyone. Not overly loud and drone-y but its definitely there.

Sounds good. Sort of like my Corsa DB. How do you post a video to Youtube? I'd like to take a video of mine.

Someone mentioned the Flowmaster 60. The member that brought it up said it was made for a V6. Wish someone had a video of it on a JK. Only Jeep one I could find was on a 4.0L. I hope someone with this posts a video of it.

Take a video with your phone, if it is a high-end phone, or digital camera, or whatever you want to take it with. Then put it on your computer, then make a youtube acct and then click upload and it will show everything you have to do to get it on there.

I like the sound of the 40 Flowmaster Where did you get it from and is it just muffler or is it cat back? Also how long does it take for it to heat up and sound as great as the 2nd video?

I am looking at the corsa offroad system P/N 24413. It is the single exhaust w/o the tip so it is all tucked away underneath.
Which muffler do you have?
Any complaints about interior noise?

I went to a local shop and we tested a few mufflers and this one sounded best. Its a regular 40, he welded it up for 120 total. It has an offset in, center out.both 2.5. Offset toward the rear, so technically upside down. He welded a 90 turn to the down pipe part attached to the oe muffler. And attached the stock trail section. It took about 1 week of driving or about 750 miles for it to sound that way. After that it takes about 5 minutes or so to sound like the second clip.
