Question Magruder Corridor Jeep trail

anybody been on this one?

Seems like a doable thing without the Black Bear Pass sheer cliffs, crumbly edges and vertigo inducing terrain.

I drove it this summer in a full size pickup (i'm a wanna be jeeper. just too cheap to buy one, that's all). Anyway, the road isn't that bad at all. There was a crew cab pickup that made it just fine. It's a long way without services and there is at least one fairly gnarly side trail up to Burnt Knob, but you don't have to take that side trail and anyway it's nothing a stock Sport unlimited couldn't handle.

Definitely worth doing though!

thanks for the tips! Any more details appreciated....figure leisurely 2 days will do it with camp out along the way?

How about sheer edges/drop off into various canyons?
Or just a typical back-country access trail with nothing too puckering for those with 'edge phobia'.

I'd guess JK with Bantam trailer no problem either then, since pick ups seem to do just fine.

PM me if you don't want to make public comments.

There are some steep drop offs, but I still think you'll be fine. Check with the forest service before going, that road sees a lot of closures and there is a pretty short season for it to be open. That's what I did, two day leisurely kind of thing and camped on the Selway, there is a campground about 1/2 way.

I did this last year on my GS. The road is in decent shape with a lot of it being one lane. Be sure to go up to Burnt Knob Lookout (1.5 miles off the main road) Beautiful scenery. Here are some pics from my ride and a link to my ride report:

Great ride report. I might have to try it some year when I am up there during the summer. Unfortunately I ride alone and would not do that one solo. It also looks like TKC's really help. The Torrances might have a tough time but I might just put some TKC's or Heidenaus on.
