Maintenance Contract for JK

I have a Service Agreement on my 2010 JKU, but I was wondering about Maintenance Contracts for those pesky oil changes and other services every 6000 miles.

To keep in line with the Service Agreement documentation requirements, it would probably be beneficial to have all services performed at the dealership... but at what cost?

Has anyone purchased a dealership Maintenance Contract for services every 6k miles and what did you pay?

Does anyone know what the dealership cost is on these things?

I do all of my own maintenance and keep a log. That is all that is required.

You can't get a REAL LEGAL contract with a vehicle dealer, they just op on warranties and good will-

Do your own oil chg and tire change/rotation-leep receipts and follow the maintenance book schedule in the back of the warranty book-sign/date your work, keep all receips-simple and you'll KNOW that the things detailed in the book are DONE !!

Just remember that any time you have a warranty item that NEEDS to be done-it's a fight with the dealer, almost everytime-NO MATTER HOW YOUR MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN FOLLOWED --just the way they operate-especially if you've made any changes to the jeeps stock attitude

Not trying to scare you, but warranty coverage has ALLWAYS been trouble with dealers and it's got nothing to do with Chrysler or jeeps-

Good morning

I do all of my maintenance too - well I let the dealer do the fluids in my automatic transmission because they have equipment to get more of the old fluid out, and the job is pretty messy. Like others said keep a log, plus you’ll know it was done right!

OTOH - Do you like your dealership? Are they mod friendly? Do you have a good service advisor? Have you talked to the service manager about mods and their philosophy on modding? Do they sell modded Jeeps? If you don’t like to work on your vehicles, and you’re going to have it serviced somewhere anyway, and the dealership price is in line with other places, and it looks like the dealer would be sympathetic to changes you make to your Jeep, then having them do your maintenance does potentially buy a little goodwill. The dealership I go to currently fits the above description, and like I said I still do almost all of my own maintenance, but I do have them service my transmission.

I bought an extended warrenty for my 2007 JK Unlimited Sahara for $1,800 and it covers pretty much everything you would want it to cover. The warrenty covers me until 2015 or 100,00 miles. Also the dealership I bought it at gave me free oil changes for the life of the jeep.
