KittyPrawn I believe you are correct as I am sure the actual number of leaking 2012-13s is much lower than we really believe. I may be trying to simply talk myself out of spending this kind of cash for a vehicle and to worry about stuff makes me feel better....hehe

I did find the linked thread about the leaking plug very interesting however also found it to be careless on Jeeps part. Such a simple opening with such a simple solution and none of those high paid engineers caught that before production?

I really want my new Jeep and yes I so much want it to be a good experience. I am sadly a bit OCD and a randomly leaking interior would drive me nuts.

picked up the Jeep... i'll have to wait until i get home to list the exact "fixes" from the paperwork. things such as replaced passenger door seal... glue... header seal and rivets... blah blah blah..

list of gripes that has me seeing red and the very reason i get so upset when the rig needs the dealer...

carpet doesn't seat right, i can't get the pieces sticking out to stay under the center console/heater controls.. it's deformed.. as a result..

passenger floor mat doesn't seat right.. overlaps the plastic cover by the door

Jeep is filthy.. really though??.. i certainly didn't drop it off muddy. i'd like to be in it please when it's off road

$300 Hotheads headliners... the drivers panel is scuffed up and covered with lint... the driver’s side is now loose on one corner.. those things were budge free..

:: sigh :: FML

One thing I have learned over the years of having a car fixed anywhere. They will @!#$# up more s#$t than they will fix! Of course this is just imho.

"perform TSB as per chrysler, replace new right front door weatherstrip on door, replace front top header weatherstrip, remove carpet to dry and ionize vehicle to prevent any mold. ok now"
[ok to whose standards?!]
seal
stuffer
tape kit-butyl
*glue-glue
w/strip-door to body
w/strip windshield header

hey... if the leaking is gone.. than i will be a happy camper... after of course the carpet is replaced.

changed both rear bulbs after work -very easy!! will vacuum [gently] the headliner this weekend

@ Zombie Sniper - Can you explain more on your results with the case? Did they pay you for the Jeep and let you keep it or what were the paid 'damages'? I may be in for the haul on mine as well but for another issue.

Basically I was paid for breech of warranty. I did not file suit for lemon law. I could have, but I did not want another leaking jeep and I was in too good on my jeep money wise for the to buy it back. Breech of Warranty worked best for me. I had a list of all my visits for repairs and sent them to the lawyer and they started the paperwork.

Be aware that the lawyer gets 40 percent! But, I think 60% of something is better than 100% of nothing. My case was settled before going to court. I could have fought more and got maybe 1000 more in my settlement, but I just wanted it to be over. My case was settled in about 3 weeks from start to finish. I have not received funds yet as it is stipulated it can take up to 10 weeks from settlement. But I should have them before Christmas.

I keep the jeep and once paperwork was signed, I was able to get rid of it. It is not marked as a lemon so you can trade or sell as you wish. I actually got a fantastic trade in value and really came out on top because of the funds I am getting. Sad t see my beloved Jeep go, and I did not buy another one as I hear that the 12s and 13s leak just as bad. But I am happy with what I got.
