Making mods!

I Will be going to get a quote from a few places for the following mods. I need to know a good price for these. Some I know I could do myself but I have no time currently. I have a 2012 jku sport s.

Running boards (wife has trouble getting in the rig). Suggestions on types?
Removing "wrangler sport" stickers
Grill inserts (black)
Plasti dip jeep logos and possibly fenders
Painting stock wheels black (similar to matte black on altitude)

Thanks fellas

All that should be real cheap done in your own drive way and ace rock rails look cool and can be used as steps

In the time it took you to type that post you could have removed the "wrangler decals". All that mentioned above are cheap and easy mods. The search feature will lead you to links that break down all that your interested in doing. As for the running boards, I went with Ace Rock Sliders. They will protect the body and double as a step.

Lemme guess. Your mom still cleans your room, doesn't she? Hmm. Thought so.

Ace Rock Rails
Rails that also have steps?

how many of you guys removed your side stickers and how did you do it?

Good Grille Mesh Alternative & Pics

Plasti-Dippin
Wheels can be plasti-dipped, too, btw.

How hard is it to paint stock wheels black?

Anyone paint/powder coat their OEM Wheels?

As for price, you're on your own. Most of those things (actually all of them...but primarily the plasti-dippin, grille inserts, and sticker removal) you'd be flushing money down the toilet by having someone else do it. If you don't mind that, have at it...

Good luck.

I appreciate it. I am actually the rig's owner's wife. Trying to find a great birthday present! I think he can do a lot of these things, just wanted them done before he gets back from business trip! Thank you all

Haha...should've said that from the beginning.

My apology for the sarcasm. Your intentions are noble.

Some of the things – such as sticker removal, installing the grille insert, and painting the rims – would cost WAY more than they're worth to pay someone else to do. And I'm not at all sure a mechanic's shop would even ATTEMPT the plasti-dipping. Could be wrong.

Out of everything, having the rock rails/side steps installed would be the simplest, both for you and a shop. Requires a little grinding to make the washers fit. However, I'm not sure how quickly you could get the rock rails...Jeep accessories have a history of being on back-order.

Anyway, hope it works out.

Haha didn't know if I'd get a response if I were just the wife. I was wrong! I will look into all of this. Maybe his present will be a case of beer and me to leave him alone with the jeep for a weekend

You could buy the stuff and help him do the work.

If your hubby's like a lot of us, he'll enjoy doing the work – it's fun and rewarding.

I do everything on my Jeep. Not to save money, but because it means more to me than it will to some mechanic putting in his eight hours, which means I'll do a better job.

In theory, anyway.
