Ian just installed one on the Magnaflow build he is doing on Xtreme 4x4. Looked good but I do agree about some of the comments on airflow. It does block allot of the grille.

I love the way the ARB tucks up under the fender flares. My OR-FAB does this. Stops the rocks from bouncing off the front bumper then up on the hood and windshield. I also like how tall your bull bar is.

It was already installed when I bought it last month, I did get underneath to take a look and it looks pretty straight forward. If you go to LoD's website, they provide a PDF of the installation instructions.

Thanks. Did a lot of research before picking the ARB and I am really happy with it. I am going to get the ARB Rear bumper too (Not sure when, though $$)

my question is, does it pay to try and pop it out or is there a cheap bumper that's a bit more durable?

...if it looks tough, that's a plus too!

To bump it out is a pain in the a$$ and itll still look like crap so youre wasting your time and money. Save up and get a good steel bumper thatll make people think twice before parking too close

I was afraid of that...thanks for the heads up though...don't have a weekend project anymore lol

any other suggestions for bumpers? any manufacturers to steer clear of? any manufacturers people swear by? I'm pretty sure I can do the ~$500 range if I do the work myself...which leads me to my next question, how hard is it to replace the stock bumper with an aftermarket?

was looking at something like this...or the middle bumper in the second pic...

I cant think of a company to "steer clear" of. A lot of companies have fitment issues, including my own bumper, but nothing 5 minutes of trimming cant fix. And that bumper is the ace midwidth, which runs for about 600 bucks. Stubbies will be cheaper but offer less frontal protection. So if its your daily driver, note that safety will be risked, specially if you have kids. My full width expedition one bumper with a bull bar was about 1100, but there are plenty of bumper that are similar and run for a fee hundred less. Keep an eye out for deals and rebates too. I ordered mine while it was free shipping, saved 150 bucks.

In short, a full width with bullbar will be between 700-1200 (more protection, less clearance)
Stubby with bullbar between 500-800 (vice versa)

thanks for the info! seeing the numbers, I may go with a stubby with a bullbar...unless I can find a used full width for around ~$500/$600.

might save up for an LoD mid width...

Interesting. I'm doing some research on that one. I contacted the seller regarding manufacture origin, and this was his response:

Quote:
Thank you for your interest in our products.
The Spyder Modular JK front bumper is manufactured in China by a manufacturer that builds bumpers for some of the major bumper companies out there. Now is this bumper a rebadge of a different company' s? No it is not it is a design that we created here in our California location and had manufactured by them for mass production.

Price is nice, though, I'm digging a little more.

There is an inexpensive seller on ebay, eautogrilles, which if you look through this forum, showed it's a China manufacturer, Paramount Restyling, and a WF vendor (Chris@Jeepaddons) sells them cheaper and with a warranty.

I think I understand lol

I'm still a little weary of that price...wouldn't wanna spend $300+ then have it bend or break.

I might have been sold on the rampage recovery and its still fairly cheap.

Little forum research on that bumper, here is the seller's website:

Tuff Stuff Winch | Recon Winches | Tuff Stuff ATV Winch | Jeep Winches

Looks like a few forum members have bought their winches. 1 bumper review (for the rear):

Works in the Rockies just fine...

Based on the rest of the thread, these are supposedly Paramount Restyling, too, so truck and winch may be full of it.

I may check with Chris to confirm.

much thanks man!

I do want a functional bumper for the times that I'll (hopefully) be wheelin...

the rampage reco has got my eye just because its well known (and has more than 1 review)

can you explain "Paramount Restyling?" is that just a brand name?

"Paramount restyling" is just a Chinese designer/manufacturer. Some US companies here will rebrand and sell it, I think Smittybuilt is one. eaautogrilles on ebay (who never state who the manufacturer is) is another.

I'm not sure if this one is or not. Perhaps it's only the rear bumper that is similar. I'm still checking around.

Paramount does make this one I'm interested in, similar to the aries/wildboar bumpers, but much cheaper

to me it's not worth it to go cheap. I mean, I'm sure I can do a $500/$600 bumper so I'd rather not take a chance on a $300 one...

thanks for the quick responses and the knowledge.
