AEV Front Bumper Hinged License Mount

Just thought I'd share my front license mount solution.

I could not find a front license mount that I liked so I decided to build one. I made it so the license plate mounts behind the aluminum treadplate hinged cover . (it kinda creates its own license plate frame) The side plates are 3/8" treadplate steel with a 1/8" steel plate welded between them that is sandwiched between the bumper and the aluminum fairlead. I had the steel parts powder coated.

Anybody?? I'm curious too. It looks a lot like the JCR Pre-Runner Stubby but I think it's something else?

Here's pics of the Rubi10A Front and Rear to add to the list.
This thread helped me decide to buy the 10A instead of standard Rubi because of the minimal price diff but with the bumpers and hood.

I can weigh them when I take them off next week to install the Maximus-3 winch and Dually D2 Driving Fogs.

We also need the AEV bumpers from the Moab on here as well.

Mopar Rubi10A Bumpers:
68195896AA Front Bumper ($610)
68231954AA Side Extension ($775)
68231955AA Side Extension ($775)
68231962AA bumper cover ($105)
68231963AA bumper cover ($105)
68195897AA Rear Bumper ($562)

Is there any downsides to a full sunk winch bumper compared to a half sunk or top winch mount?

The way I look at it, full sunk is least obstructive to the grill whatever it's purpose is. Some say the grill serves no purpose and some thinks it helps with cooling. I think it wouldn't be there if it wasn't needed so I'd rather keep it open as much as possible.

Full sunk is harder to clean and also to untangle wire rope. Air flow is better as the above post says. Pros and cons to all options like most other mods.

Does anyone run the Expedition One trail series bumpers? If so how do you like them or what do you dislike about them.

It's not ours, and pretty sure its not ACE's either. I don't recognize that tubework style.

It came with the 10A and should be included in the Rubi X 24J package in 2014

The two downsides I can see is access to the cable if you need to manipulate and some limitations on size of winch body to fit between frame.
I wanted this so that it sat more inline with the frame and because did not block cooling intake.

Maybe a dumb question but I was curious...I'm trying to decide between front and rear bumpers and wonder is there any companies/online stores that sell both front and rear as a package deal? There are so many choices and I'm having such a hard time deciding on what brand to go with. This is awesome right up but since I'm NEW to the Jeep world but this is a little bit overwhelming with all the choices.

I've seen them before, but don't remember where. Check our vendors, most of them should offer a good discount for purchasing both.

the Chinese knockoffs on ebay, which are actually of good quality, are commonly sold in packages.

I seen the ebay knockoffs but I was just curious if any of the vendors offered any. Plus I was just curious to see what most people have installed on their JKS.

I've heard the ebay bumpers are rebadged Paramount Offroad bumpers. Chris at jeep add onns sells the "real" versions for pretty cheap with a warranty.

From this:

...to this:

Smittybilt XRC M.O.D. with mid-width end caps. Install was clean, no hand-fitting necessary - I'm very satisfied with the quality. It dropped the front by about .20". Saving up for a Warn, so for now covered the winch cutout with part of the OEM bumper, and the fairlead slot with, uh, a cut-up ruler:

Unfortunately, no, no provisions for factory fogs. That was literally the only thing in the "con" list for the bumper. (Well, aside from "It costs money.") I am planning to mount a series of motorcycle fog lights to shine out through the holes in the bottom of the bumper - should be functional, could look great, could easily look like overengineered crap. We'll see - luckily, motorcycle fogs are super-cheap.

(Coulda gone with the full-width end caps for built-in fog lights, but didn't want that much front coverage, and liked the looks of the mid-width much better.)

Looks nice. And if you go fishing, you have a built in ruler for checking the length limit.

Just got the call that my Fab Fours Full Metal Jacket is to be delivered on Monday! Haven't really heard anyone say much about them; I think it's probably a love/hate thing but I love it. I'll post some pics when it arrives. I like my 10A front bumper but I couldn't pass this thing up; there's nothing else like it.

One aspect of the bumpers I think would be helpful for consumers is the weight. I haven't gone through all the posts here but I wonder how many (if any) provide that information and how many manufacturers provide that spec?

I am considering purchasing a full width bumper with winch. Does anybody know the street value of the 10a stock bumper to compensate the purchase of a new one? Thanks.
