Thread started on JK Forum. Will post again when back at hotel. Since no offroading I discovered the Quesadilla Mobilla is great and Moab has the most laid back people anywhere.

Hell yes! So long as it's a true ~2.5" lift and not a 3.75" lift in 2.5" packaging like the Rock Krawler seems to be...

You should expect at least a .5 or more with no weight.
That's normal for a aftermarket coil. I do agree though, RK 2.5's have me up there. no signs of sagging. How many wraps/rating have some to do with it also.

So long as it sits closer to 2.5" than the RK lift. By the time I'm in the market for a new lift the MC 2.5" will hopefully be available, and it's going to be between those two. I've heard even with steel bumpers all around the RK still nets near 3.5" on a 2dr.

So whoever is closest to 2.5" in the end gets my money.

Exactly.
RK's doesn't seem to agree but every two door I see is 3-3.5" w/ weight ... Still
This is a good thing for a lot of people. Not for me that ran into DS/steering issues. I think the dual rate coils all around will be awesome on and off road.

Sueby's AEV 4" with 3.5's. now I don't know where she is at currently with the bumpers.

I'll test the 2.5 coils too. I'm already running full MC arms so it will be a match made in heaven

My RK is well over 2.5, I keep hoping it will settle a little. I am getting used to how it is though. I can't see ripping it out. A "true" 2.5" lift would sell like hot cakes.

With aftermarket bumpers, sliders, etc. you should be around the rated lift with MC. If not it could be up to an inch higher. My JKU on their JKU 2.5" lift sits at 2.75" higher rear and about 3.25" in the front. The only weight I have though is the hard top and the 4 door Ace sliders that are about 40lbs or so each side. Previously I had the stock 17/59 springs. Front bumper and winch are next on my list of mods.

Surely not. There are no secrets in general. I am just stating the facts as I see them, and not being overly emotional about it...could be incorrect parts by mistake or something else. If it cannot be fixed, that is another story. This is the only forum I have mentioned this on, but am on several. Bad press goes a very long way. PM me or post if details are needed. I have discovered a couple of other issues, but will try to keep this thread focused on Metalcloak.

I think this is in the works now- a 2.5 kit for the 2-door...not just a 4-door kit shoehorned into a 2-door. Looking forward to it.

You know where I stand. I have been on board for a 2.5 kit for quite. While now. I even talked to Matson about it not too long ago. Hopefully the R&D won't take to long and we'll have something in a couple of months

I did. Just look for threads started by me...been a little while. The RK kit has been fully ripped out. My recommendation- go with AEV. I am using their drop brackets and the ride changed significantly- smoother, much less brake dive, and no clearance issues. You also get to keep your stock control arms which are smoother and the joints last a very long time. If you need adjustable uppers, you can pick MC or Rokmen arms. My second choice would be MC. So as I sit, I now have all eight Rokmen arms with double Johnny Joints- I love them, and they are stout. They adjust down to stock as well.

I have the EVO Plush Ride coils- very nice, though Synergy was almost as nice. Must say the RK coils were nice too...the best thing about that whole kit. I am running 5100s though I find them a bit too firm for the 2-door. Am installing Elkas tomorrow, along with some shock doubler brackets from AEV- just to move the shock body away from the frame a bit. If I had to do it all over again, I'd go all AEV with stock arms and just throw on adjustable uppers IF needed in the rear.

Yeah, I could have. Try not to mention these things to me. It makes me become livid at both RK and my installer.

So I wanted to try the EVO coils. Sadly, it was wasted money. There is little difference between them and my Synergy coils. This is it though- these AEV shock relo brackets go on along with the Elkas. If it works- great. If not, oh well.

Nothing yet. A guy wanted to buy them as soon as I took them off, but I wanted to keep them till my Elka experiment is over. I also have my Old Man Emu Nitrocharger (regular, not the Sport) shocks sitting neatly near the Synergy coils. Fingers crossed that the Elkas are softer than the 5100s.

Oh no! I liked it when everyone picked on you. I'll keep this on the down-low...most will never notice. Man, those Elka shocks are huge. All goes well...I will have Synergy coils and OME shocks to sell.

So RK is testing 1.5" lift coils? Am I reading that right? Is it 1.5" for 4 doors and 2.5" for 2 doors? Triple rate too? Sounds complicated for coils. Their regular coils are quite nice but the rear is just too short. They made my Jeep look slightly nose-up. I prefer a slight forward rake over that.
