Metalcloak 2.5" lift

I am researching lifts. I don't want a big lift and I don't want tires bigger than 35" as this will be a DD and a part time warrior. I plan on putting metalcloak overlander fenders and bumper with winch. I don't see near as much talk about the MC lift as others. What is everyone thoughts on the MC 2.5 coil lifts?

A friend of our had a 3.5" MC lift installed on her jeep and she got WAY more than that. Be prepared for getting more lift than advertised and that if you do go that route that you will eventually need new driveshafts, axle sleeves, gussets and the like for a lift like that.

Not that it's a bad lift, didn't mean that at all. Just something to think about when you are deciding. :)

Have you check out the lift advice section in the JK Tech sticky?

Way over reaction for a 2 1/2" lift. You don't need to sleeve or gusset for a 2 1/2" lift.
Maybe down the road you might want to do drive shafts but that is down the road.
MC is probably one of if not the best lift out there right now.
Do it and don't look back, you'll be very happy you did.

I have a 3.5 MC on a 2dr, and netted me 4 inches. Their lifts are based on a fendered and armored Jeep to get advertised lift. With winch, bumpers and metal fenders you should see 2.5 inches. They are very high quality suspension systems and you will be very happy with it on road and off.

I have a 2.5" on my 2-door '13 that netted me just about 3 real inches with the soft top, and a little over 2.5 inches with the hard top.

I also have a bunch of other stuff also, but no armor yet, so my weight is a little less what they think for a loaded Jeep.

I did the driveshafts since it is my daily driver and I don't want issues in the future.

Metalcloak makes outstanding lift kits. Very good quality. When you add the extra weight to the Jeep you should net pretty close to the 2.5. If you run it for a while without the bumpers and winch you'll probably be higher like others have said.

Just put mine on last week, 2.5" MC Game Changer without the OME shocks. I gained about 5" of total lift from the ground through the center of the wheel to the bottom of the fender. Remember tires + suspension should give you about 5"-6". Now, this all depends on if you have after market bumpers and skids installed.

Here is a before and after on mine.

I'm running the 2.5" Dual-Rate kit ARB Edition on a 14 JKUR and it rides great! Smooth. On the trails it goes anywhere I point it with plenty of flex from 27" extended OME shocks. Yes, you will get more than 2.5". Closer to 3 to 3.5" if you run a light Jeep. They, like other manufacturers rate them based on heavy ass Jeeps. That and so as not to get calls from customers complaining about not getting advertised lift.

You don't see as much talk about MC because they are relatively newcomer to the market. They've been around for less than ten years while several of the others haven around for decades. They also tend to compete directly with RockKrawler which is one of the top brands which offers high quality products so their competition is stiff. IMO, the MC lifts kits are high quality but their shocks are still wait-and-see.

I'm running the 3.5 Game Changer. Love it!
