Mirrors for Bestop element doors?

Just got a set of Element doors for my '08 JKU- can I use the OEM mirrors off of my factory doors, or is there a better way?

Bestop 51261-01 - HighRock 4X4™ 03-06 Factory Styling Replacement Mirrors for 87-13 Jeep® Wrangler YJ, TJ, JK, TJ Unlimited & Unlimited JK - Quadratec

Bestop 51258-01 - Bestop Mirror Mounting Brackets for 76-06 Jeep® CJ-7, CJ-8 Scrambler & Wrangler YJ, TJ, Unlimited with Bestop 2-Piece Doors - Quadratec

I used these for my bestop full soft doors. Even though they don't say they are made for a jk they will still work. For the plates, one goes on the inside and the other goes on the outside. I am not sure of the design of the element doors so I would contact the bestop rep here. The element doors seem a little different than mine. Check out this thread I found, I am guessing these are the doors you have so you can get an idea of the mirrors mounted on them. http://www.jk-forum.com/modified-jk-...ent-doors-810/ . I think they are on a tj but you can get an idea of how it will look if those mirrors are compatible with element doors.

Or, you could get mirror relocation brackets and move your factory mirrors from your doors to the body of the jeep but you will loose some visibility on the passenger side.

Or you could use these Rugged Ridge 11025.10 - Rugged Ridge Quick Release Mirror Kit for 97-13 Jeep® Wrangler TJ, JK, TJ Unlimited & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec and attach them to the jeep whenever your element doors go on if you don't want to move your OEM mirrors

I just ordered a set of the Lange Quick Mirror II. There is a small bracket that stays on the windshield frame and the mirrors can be removed with the twist of a knob. There is supposedly a different stem available direct from the factory that improves passenger side visibility. I'm waiting to hear back from them on that. I have the Bestop 2-piece soft doors.

No. My jeep is black and the brackets never scratched the paint.
I have used the Lange mirrors in the past and I liked them.

The do get whacked pretty hard by branches when off road. It knocks them out of adjustment at the stem sometimes. I kept the Allen wrench in my glove box to fix it.

There is a slight whistle as well. I was able to minimize it by adjusting the mirror stem I got used to the whistle after a couple of days.

Good to know. Thanks. Looks like I'm ok with just my rear view in WI...

Go here http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/bes...ew-230843.html. for Kramer2k's review of bestop doors. He sourced some mirrors for the doors. I bought mine from the place he recommended. The mirrors look factory and are easy to install on the doors.

Use the Bestop mirrors that are listed for a TJ. They fit on the element doors with no adapters and I think they look better than the jk mirrors. About $90 set

I used a Lange Quick Mirror II on the driver side - and I couldn't stand it and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I might clamp it somewhere on my riding lawn mower so I can get visibility or something - but I won't use it on the Jeep. I could never get it really tight (at the mirror end of the arm) - so I had to literally move it into place every time I wanted to use it, and the whistle was more than just slight to me.

I replaced it with a Defiant Systems mirror this winter, but I haven't gone doors-off this year so until I actually USE it, I'm not going to promise it's much better. In any case, the Defiant won't work with Element doors as it mounts to the door-pin-hinge-socket-thingie.

I used these (Bestop 51262-01 HighRock 4X4 Black Replacement Mirror 86-06 Wranglers : Amazon.com : Automotive) on my new Element tube doors. Worked great, good price and fit like a charm. I am really really happy with them. I still have my Lange QRII mount for when I want to go truly doorless.

Can't beat it for ~$60.

Stan or anyone- do these fall out of adjustment a lot? Seems to be a common complaint on the reviews. But like that I can just put these on my Elements without hassle. I do have the cup-thingie already.
The whistling on the Lange might bother me. Looking for something in the middle- not huge like OEM mirrors but not too dainty either. I hate to be accused of being dainty.

I've been running these mirrors for three years, and other than the occasional tree limb that re adjusts them, they are perfect!

My element doors came with adapters for the OEM mirrors. Takes about 5 min to put the mirrors on the doors.
