This mean MOAB in Rock Lobster is like a chameleon the way it changes color as you walk around it, watching it quiver in place in ever-changing hues that seems to give it a sinister life of its' own!

Not to throw a wet towel on the aforementioned 'love affair' with the paint job, but I'd be remiss if I didn't at least mention how seemingly chintzy the Garmin-based 430N (RHB13) screen graphics appear. Poor color saturation (faded & pastel-like.....needs contrast) and way too grainy for serious detail. You don't think Garmin would dare __ __ __ (feel free to fill-in the blanks)?

Sounds like BS to me. I'm certain the hood bulge is to give you more room to work under the hood without hitting the big head you'll get from owning a special edition jeep.

The reason why they probably didn't put on the more aggressive tires like on the Rubicon is in Moab most of the trails are sandy and smooth. Sure there are some rocky trails but not as many as there are trails stock radials can conquer. These special editions I find unneccessary to spend the extra money on if you really plan to do a lot of harder terrains as you'll end up changing most of it out.

Yes the tires need to be more aggressive, but until the funding allows I'll keep running them. With the 8 inches of snow we just got these tires preform great.

The wife got me a set of wheel spacers. It definately helps the the stance.

Slightly OT question. Does the Moab come with a plastic air dam like a standard JK or the AEV metal front skid to go with the bumper?

No its actually like a grey, hard to make out in that picture due to the glare and everything, it's very understated. I like it its real subtle on the black. It's there easy to make out in person, but probably not with the iphone quality esp when its compressed down to be forum friendly.

Honestly I was thrilled with the moab pictures but 10x more thrilled in person. Love everything about it so far. Makes me feel like a kid again not that i'm an adult but somewhere in between (27). Man boy? maybe.

Of everything surprisingly, the premium soft top is my fav feature so far. So much quieter and more insulated then my 2011. Really didn't expect it to be that huge a difference. Glad I didn't get the dual top.

I think its about the same Steve. Not as capable off road, doesnt have the 44 front axle and doesn't come with lockers standard ($1500 option on moab). Comes standard with LSD though.

Spec'd out with the same options the Rubi is a bit more.
We were going to get the Rubi, but decided not too. For the wheeling we do we didnt need the crawl ratios or gears.
I wheeled a TJ for 8 years with open diff's at both ends. Never had any issues.
This is my Daily driver, I travel alot for work, Picked it up 4 weeks ago today and I have 2650 miles on it already.

Im in the same boat as you I would rather have the bumpers then the goodies the rubicon offers, maybe thats stupid, but my offroading tends to be fire trails so really any wrangler is fine.

This is exactly my line of thinking and how I ended up with a Sahara that has AEV bumpers on it now. The Moab got announced like 5 days after my order went in, or I would have considered it instead.

MOAB comes with Goodyear Silent Armor tires. I just bought a set for winter driving and use the stock BFG Mud in warmer seasons. Just don't understand why they would put white letter Goodyear's insteaed of all black (looks much better). My JKUR needs that back bumper off the Moab. Saw one at a dealership and the rear bumper doesn't have the water storage option like a traditional AEV (I like).

Is anyone upgrading their rear bumper and would like to sell me the OEM bumper off their MOAB (or COD MW3 for that matter)? I pay good price :D

My JKUR needs that back bumper off the Moab. Saw one at a dealership and the rear bumper doesn't have the water storage option like a traditional AEV (I like).
I don't want the water tanks either. I asked AEV about it and they said...

The Call of Duty side non-water tanks are available for purchase separately. Please contact the AEV sales department if you would like to order those parts.

So far I really like these tires. Sure they arent aggresive, but in the 7" of snow we just had they perform nicely.

I think the spacers gave it the offset needed to fill up the wheel well better.

Same here when I put the spacers on my Sahara with stock tires. Looked so much better.
