Moab wrangler

Has anybody seen one of these or herd of it? My friend told me about it, it sounds cool?

They must not have sold too well either because around here they were discounted $4-6K in dealer ads and websites in the late summer and fall.

It was a blacked out Sahara with a rear locker, the power bulge hood, AEV bumpers.

I like the Moabs....but Jeep really screwed up the colors on them. As you can see, they were only available in 6 colors (White, Black, Gecko, Crush, Dozer, and Rock Lobster)...and I know for a fact that Dozer closed around the end of September 2012....because that was one of the few colors I would consider.

With Dozer gone, I briefly considered a white Moab.

A RL sat at my dealer for a long time. I don't like how all the crud builds up in the crevices on that hood.

How much are they? Are they an improvement to the rubicon?

Improvement? Not even close to a Rubicon. They are also no longer available.

Why call it a Moab and then give us a Sahara with Silent Armor tires? A bit strange, I think. Wait for the Kalahari next year. It will have front lockers and Triple Treads.

I know where there is a 2 door red auto reduced $5000 and still cannot sell it.
I may have considered it if it was commando green manual.

I liked the Moab edition. Mostly for the hood and bumpers. Dealership near me had it priced rediculously high. They wanted 50k for an unlimited with aftermarket wheels.

For those wondering what a moab edition is, its based on a sahara, adds heavy duty bumpers, side rails, power bulge hood, lsd, and interior add-ons like leather seats. Rear locker is an option. Got one and like mine! It was the case where the jeep found me...lol. The reality is its a dd for 95%, and as a 1st time Jeeper, its a win. Just like everyone on here though, have plans to upgrade (eventually!)

They dropped the MAAB because they thought the Dragon edition was a much better idea.

I got a Moab and love it, It's a DD and the creature comforts are real nice along with it being very capable on the trail. I'm building mine more into an expedition jeep rather than a rock crawler.
The sticker was 37,000+ but I got it for 29,000+, very happy.

We went in to purchase a Moab last March and ended up leaving with a Sahara instead. I already had one picked out on the lot but when we got there my wife locked on to a just unloaded Rock Lobster Red JKU Sahara and my Moab dreams went down in flames. I have to admit though, the Sahara was a good choice and we absolutely love the color.

Brand new? $29K is Sport money, and you've got $3500 worth of bumpers, $1000 radio/nav upgrade, and $1000 leather upgrade.

Well played...

Yeah, I actually went to the dealer with the intention of looking at the Rubi's but they had the 2013 Moab on the showroom floor two weeks before x-mas and I knew they wanted to move it for the 2014 models so I had some good leverage.

That's Rubicon money too, granted all I ordered was a hard top and tow package. Gonna cost me $29.8+tax OTD

Moab is a solid platform to build on.

I agree the rear locker (not lsd) and AEV bumpers should be included in the Sahara to differentiate it more from the Sport and step closer to the Rubi.

I gotta disagree with that.

I would not have purchased a Sahara if it had a rear locker instead of LSD. I also would have been mad that I had to purchase a Sport (thus give up saddle leather interior) to get LSD.

For better or worse, the Sahara is tagged as the mall crawler version....an in that case, LSD is probably more beneficial to its buyers than a rear locker that would only engage in 4L. I bet there are a ton of Sahara's (or JK's in general) that have never seen 4L.

I like the Moab because it had LSD and GY Silent Armors.

One item I would like to see would be an optional front locker (with LSD still in the rear).

One of the reasons why I bought my Moab was the fact it had a rear locker. I wouldn't buy an open/open wrangler.

Man I'm with you on that thought! I don't understood why they haven't made a front locker as an option on models like the Moab and the Polar. The optional rear locker on the Polar didn't interest me at all over the LSD but a front locker would have been sweet.
