Mods?

So I just bought a 2011 Rubicon and need some suggestions on what I should do to it first as far as modifying it. Any thoughts would help. Thanks.

Tires, lift, bumpers, lights, rock rails, armor, hitch, light guards, cargo nets, slush mats, cargo mat, spare cover, mirror relocation,....oh sorry, that's mine.

You realize that there's no limit to what you can do, right? The aftermarket options for a Wrangler are ridiculously broad. As phrased, there's actually no answer to this question.

So, here's my suggestion:

(1) Go check out www.quadratec.com and www.4wd.com just to get a sense of just how limitless your possibilities are. Sign up for their print catalogs. They're purty and full of nice shiny things.

(2) Drive your Jeep, both on and off road for a while. If you don't know where any legal trails are, use this forum to find your local group and join in. Unless you're a serious off-roader, you'll be surprised at what your Rubi can handle as-is.

(3) Participate on this forum.

The side effect of the foregoing will be the types of modifications that are right for you--from cosmetic to performance oriented--will start to become apparent. From there, you'll be better positioned to make specific questions about specific modification options, and that will get you more tailored responses.

Good luck.

Oh, and CONGRATULATIONS on your outstanding choice of vehicle. And, as they so often say here, "pics or it didn't happen."

I don't believe you've purchased a new rubi without providing the masses some pics to oggle over!

Yes.... I get to say it first. Grab handles. Great first mod. Cheap and gets used a bunch. I can go a million different ways with this thread though.

amen. if you're looking to upgrade, start with the stuff thats practical and the stuff that protects your new JK... especially if you're planning on doing some wheelin

lots of guys will tell you. the best upgrades are the ones you don't see.. the armor under the jeep.

Truth. If you use it you will eventually want some armor. Better before you break stuff but those first few crunches might be what it takes to convince you.

My bad! I just tries to put some up but it's not letting me from my iPhone. I'll try again when I get to a computer.

Whack it with a baseball bat a few times, maybe side-swipe a tree....battle damage

You will be amazed at what the stock Rubicon is capable of. I've had mine (2010 JKU) since August and it is a beast.

My mods so far: Jeep hood lock, Jeep door sill guards, Quadratec ultimate floor liners, and Jeep grab handles. I am slowly learning what I need versus what will look cool.

So far, I can only think that on-board air, more skid plates, and an evap can relocation kit would benefit my Rubicon.

Nice Jeep! Enjoy it.
