Mods under $100 bucks! For all us new and old to the world of Jeep.

Let's post the cheap, easy and only the best mods you can do for under $100 bucks. If there is a thread like this don't flame me, just link it. I did not see one though. :-\

For those that drive automatics, Dead Peddle. Great quick easy mod. Gives your left foot someplace to rest. Very good idea for off camber.

Not very, maybe 4 - 6", easy to just move to the right a few inches and stretch out the leg. Runs against the wall of the tub.

In the creative category, and I know this has been covered in other threads, a radiator grill. I bought aluminum plaster lath. Comes in 4 ft wide sections. Took off my radiator grill, cut a piece to size, making sure it didn't touch any of the wires that run below the grill. Used the fins on the side of the Jeep to keep it in place. Reinstalled the grill. $6 for the aluminum plaster lath, $12 for the rattle can of flat black. You can make at least 4 of these for $18.

Did mine a bit differently
Gutter Guard at Lowes
Trim to 13" x 4" pieces (x 7 obviously)
Place on back & mold by hand to conform to the back of the grill (removed)
Wire tie (temp) around slats in front grill
JB Quick Weld epoxy dabs on the 4 corners of each mesh & small anounts on long edge. (Do not go nuts)
2 x 4 to weight down the mesh while it dries.
Snip zips & reinstall.

I know it's already been mentioned but the mesh guard behind the grill is super easy and cheap.

Did it yesterday:

Sheet of aluminum mesh - $12 (got a big sheet bc I am gonna use it for some other projects)
Can of rubberrized undercoat spray - $4
Zip ties and mounts - $3

All said and done it took about an hour and most of that was waiting for the paint to dry

STOP THE SEAT BELT FLAP
You can get some "Custom Accessories" seat belt covers at Wal-Mart and put them down where the belt feed is. I would get that paticular brand because it won't grab the belt when it feeds back in. It will totally stop the belt flapping. It's a great mod shown here
http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/no-...in-168915.html Total Cost is about $10

EXTEND YOUR BREATHER HOSES
If you go through a good amount of water this $15 mod is a fun little project.
http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/ext...se-185089.html
This video will show you where they are located.

STOP THE SEAT BELT CHIME
You can find how to stop the chime and other little tweaks here
http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/man...le-155357.html
I like also the second one that opens all the doors with just one press of the unlock button on the key fob

WATERPROOF AND UV PROTECT SEATS AND ROLL BAR COVERS
http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/303...er-185750.html $30

RUSTOLEUM HIGH HEAT ULTRA PAINT
Take a scotch bright pad then scuff your exaust up to prep, then Paint. You can also touch up any other areas that need it. That brand of spray paint is nice because it doesn't require primer much like bedliner. $8

GORILLA LOCKING LUGS
The best locking lugs are made by gorilla. As long as you don't loose the key. Basically what makes these better is that you cannot just go to an auto store and get the key. Each set has unique key(bolt). They give you a sticker, for in the glove box, that has the code if you happen to loose your key to order a new one.
It a good idea to at least lock one lug on your spare $25

http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/35-...od-160277.html

PLASTI-DIP EMBLEMS/LOGOS
I sort of hate plasti-dip but I have found it works great for blacking out the front JEEP logo. I since then cut it off and bedlined my grill. $8

SPRAY PAINT YOUR WHEELS
I would recommend using Duplicolor wheel spray paint as the most recommended option on all car(as in not just Jeeps) forums. Any brand Engine Spray Paint or break calaper stuff I think would work well too. Those are made to take the heat, gas and break dust cleaner. $30

FLOOR LINER
I think weather tech is the best. Those might be more than 100. If so I also like the Quadratec liner. They are cut way back by the gas pedal. Going door-less stuff will blow up and collect right there. Still way better then carpet. $70+

POLYFILL THE SPEAKER BOXES
I haven't done this yet but it is suppost to make the bass better. Cost about $10

RECOVERY STRAP
I'm not sure if it's a mod. Regardless it's a good idea to have one.

SET THE CLOCK
Oh your clock is on the right time. Well then disregaurd this until next month when it is off 5 minutes

SETTING CLOCK ON THE I'M TOO CHEAP TO UPGRADE RADIO
1) Hold down the time button until the hours flash
2) Set the time with the station tuner knob on the right side (across from the volume).
3) Push in the tuner knob to switch to minutes. They will start to flash
4) Set the time with the tuner knob, and click when done.

Talking Thought of some more

ZIPPER EXTENSION
This guy sells these for WAY too much but I think you can figure out how to make your own. http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/sof...em-156296.html

LUBE ZIPPER
Alright this might be maintenance more then mod? To lube the zipper you can use soap or bee's wax.

HI-LIFT MOUNT WITH MUFFLER CLAMPS
http://www.wranglerforum.com/f5/hi-l...nt-101250.html
If anyone has a better cheap idea I'd like to here it. I'll probably get one a hi-lift black friday.

GRAB HANDELS
Wrangler, Unlimited items in Jeep JK store on eBay!
I like the JK-RGRIP you can get off ebay. Right now that's still on my to buy list. They are about $50 + $20 shipping to the US (its a canada company)

Or you could make your own out of paracord
Paracord Grab handles ~ how to make your own.
If your better half is especially fat or short (or both) you could pair up your grab handle with an Aspen Stirrup Step
Aspen Mfg. Inc. - Start Shopping
