Mojave vs Rub

Have you guys noticed that the Mojave has a higher base price than the Rubicon?

How can that be? I thought the Mojave was a Sahara type of Wrangler.

What is making the base price so high? Also, some of the MSRPs on the Wrangler Sports are 29,000!!! Holy cow. That is alot for a Sport.

Where are you looking? The Jeep web site shows Sports starting at $22k. The Mojave is a special edition and they are going to get all they can. It is based on the Sport S pkg.

Tom , Pat's dealership has many Wrangler Sprts with 29,000 MSRPs . Holy cow!! I'm talking about MSRPs as far as the Sports are concerned. I know it is negotiable etc... but still, 29,000 for a Sport?(MSRP)

Just was saying that. Seems like the price is going up several grand each year. They will be in line with the hummers soon. I think the Mojave is way over priced for the model. Besides that, I never understood why you want a show Jeep to represent 70 years and not a trail Jeep. But then again, the Sahara's are built more for luxury and less for trails anyways.

I think that is the main reason Saharas get the worse resale value of all the models. Sports and Rubicons IMO are more for people who actually want to go off road so they hold their value more. But they may be pricing the Sport model out with the new ridiculous pricing on them. The Sport has always been the I can't afford a Rubi right now so I will get a sport and mod it as I can and for my needs.

I hate to see what next year models will cost. Just did a build your Jeep using exactly what I have in my 2010 and it has increased 1700 over last year

I was also talking about MSRP. It all depends on what options are added. Sports can be virtually the same as a Sahara except for a few minor details.

Well the thread "Deal or not", he was looking at a 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport with a msrp was 32,705.00. That amazes me. I realize it is a Unlimited but still.

My sports also have dual top group, side airbags, connectivity group, most have trailer tow group and sirius satellite radio. And they are S packages.
It is all in the options, and since I work in a pretty wealthy area(median home price 1.1 million) we usually load ours up. That's how they sell. The great thing about being the number 1 jeep store in the midwest 8 years in a row is my large allocation and the availablility to trade with other dealers to get what we need. And as member Jingo will tell you I can order and get one here in under 26 days( that's over Christmas too with the plant shutdown).

So yes AJ my sports are listing at 29000, but I am also pricing at invoice less dealer holdback this month. Our quota is pretty high

Patrick, my comments were not an indictment of the dealership, I just believe a fully loaded Wrangler sport at 29,000 is alot. I would chase a Sahara before ordering a loaded Sport. Just commentary bro.

You don't have to tell me about Fields , My wife is good friends with ownership,thats how I got connected to the dealership in the first place.

Why is the Mojave more money than the Rubicon????

I know you were just stating the price, I just thought I should give a little detail so people don't think I have the most expensive sports in the nation for no apparent reason. Remember the COD thread? everyone thought the COD package was thousands of dollars.

I think the Mojave is more based on the decals, leather, painted hard top, gray wheels, etc.

Well, I will watch my words closer.

Field's is an excellent dealership, I have purchased cars from their Jeep dealership and their BMW dealership next door.(I have said that before on this forum).

26 days?? not bad bro, I might test you in 8 weeks on a 2012.I just want to warn you,this summer will probably be different than the previous 4.

Why? The only thing you'd be getting different is painted fenders, 18" wheels (replacement tires are way more expensive), bumper accents, and dash accents.

Because I believe the sahara would have a better resale value. Based on what Edmunds.com says.Also it is 180 dollars a tire for a Sahara, thats relatively reasonable.The difference between a Sahara tire and a Sport tire is about 60 bucks a tire.

It had nothing to do with the way it was worded, I just wanted to clarify why mine have a higher msrp, that's all. From what I am gathering from my chrysler rep I think my first allocation of 2012s is right around 70. That's all trim levels 2 and 4 door. stay in touch.

Thanks Mike, I was pondering , I do like to keep my Jeeps stock ,thats why I like the Rubicon so much. It is very capable and I can keep the warranty and support of the dealership.(at least for 4 years or 50 thousand)

Mike, I do not know engines quite as well as most of you guys, stock means safe, for me. Mechanically inclined I am not. Also,I generally don't keep my cars more than 4 years.I'm going to return an 08 Rubi to the dealership this summer,that will be darn right emaculate.Hopefully the 2012 will be as reliable and cheap to own as my 08.(I hope I'm doing the right thing ,by waiting for the 12)

^^I've got no objection to that Raider.

Just wanted to make sure you know it's there. About 100 more ponies at the wheels for $5k, which I'd expect is going to be a good bit more hp than the upcoming 2012 and will cost you less overall than making the trade. You could ride that out for a few years and then decide if you wanted to trade-in down the line (maybe when Jeep couples a new transmission with that new engine) or just drive it into the ground and eventually do a Hemi swap.

But the fact is that the 2012 will come with a new warranty, the redesigned interior, zero miles, and the new engine, so I can understand your position--there's no "right answer"!

The resale value will be no different in they are similarly equipped. There is no inherent difference like a Rubicon.

Ahaa!!!!! I could not help but notice that the Mojave is now priced under the Rubicon.As far as a base price is concerned,I knew that was wrong. (it a frickin Sahara)

Now I can sleep now.
