Mopar Door sill install

For those of you that have installed the door sill, did you use the 2 sided tape or did you use something else?

Use the tape... It works fine. Just clean the sill with the alcohol prep and let that dry first. We've installed them on both JK's with no problems at all.

the 3m tape is fine...i put door sills on a toyota 8 years ago with that tape. my parents own the car now and the door sills are still holding strong. they use that stuff to mount body moldings to the exterior...its super strong stuff.. i put em on my jeep a few weeks ago and no issue. just clean first.

I used the tape, and they've shown no signs of moving.

Just to throw in what's already been said, the tape is extremely strong, it's not going to move.

They won't move.....I just turned my jeep in for a Chrysler buy back and I was going to remove them to put on my 12 which is due in soon and they wouldn't budge...I couldn't of removed them without pulling the paint off or bending the sill protectors........PUT THEM ON

I installed mine on Christmas day. -hardly the proper temperature for such a thing.
Didn't stop me though, and they haven't budged an inch.

Only advice: Clean the surface prior to installation.
Clean clean, not just wiped off with a rag clean.
I used a paper towel sprayed with glass cleaner followed by a dry one.

They should have been included if you ask me!

Next time, slice through the tape with some fine fishing line or dental floss.... That's the easiest way to remove anything adhered with automotive tape... Then some goo gone for the remaining residue.
