Question Mopar lift kits ????

Hello WF Members:

I was wondering if anybody knows if Mopar still makes the 2" and 4" suspension kits. I was checking on their website and I do not see them anywhere. Any input would be helpful.

Thanks,

I'd go with a kit from an aftermarket MFG. Just personal, its proll be cheaper. But if they will still hold true to their warranty if you but their kits than maybe they are worth it.

They still have them. Check with your service writer at the dealership. I priced a 2 inch lift and they wanted $2100. Before I was 3 feet from him, on my way out, the price had dropped $400.

I have the 2" on my Rubi unlim. that came with the vehicle from the dealer. I can't find who makes it, but it came with Bilstein shocks. My dealer said they used to use Rough Country, but changed to someone else. I can tell you it is awfully stiff, but I like the fact that the dealer will have a hard time denying me warranty work based on it's presence. This was just a few months ago, so I assume they still offer them.

Hi. Checked with my dealer about a lift the other day. Quote was $4600. This is for 2 inch lift installed and 33's on the stock rims. Was told this was the only way to not void the warranty. Pretty pricey to me. Wavey

Send a message via Yahoo to iamagolfspaz
Tell your dealer that a lift does not void your warranty.

I just purchased a 2010 4 door with a 2 in lift and 35's from the dealer here in the Atlanta area. The lift is by Fortec.

I just bought my 09 Wrangler with a dealer-installed 2.5" lift by Skyjacker. They also put Pro Comp 33s and Cepek 17" rims.

Hey Doubledown. Nice Lookin Jeep. I'm looking at almost the same setup for my 2011 Sahara. Hows the ride and power with those 35's? Is that a stock spare tire carrier or a mod? Any problems with it? What type/size wheels are those?

P5155207/P5155208 are the part numbers for 2" lift with Bilstein shocks (4/2dr)

P5155789/P5155790 are the part numbers for 2" lift with performance shocks (4/2dr)

Rubis also require a stablizer link kit P5155512

Download the Mopar Performance 2011 catalog, and read the disclaimer. Mopar/Chrysler does not warranty the Mopar lifts any differently than an afternmarket lift - which is not at all. The dealer may warranty, but Chrysler does not. Performance parts (the part number starts witha "p") are not covered by factory warranty.

Hey Kyeater,
The tires are 35 x 12.50 with Pro Comp wheels. The spare tire carrier is stock, for now. The tire kind of rests/wedges against the bumper so I am not too worried about it right now. I will probably get a tire carrier eventually. They are just so dang expensive. The ride isn't bad at all. You will lose a lot of power when you go to 35's. Mine isn't too bad since it is a manual 6 spd. It also seems like the engine got a little more powerful after about 1500 miles. Either that or the memory of my previous V8 finally wore off.

Very nice Jeep. What kind of gas mileage are you getting with that lift and tires?

About 16.5 mpg. I got about 17.5 on a long road trip. Not great, but no worse than any other Jeep. I have a lead foot too.

just test drove a new 2011 sport with a 2" mopar factory with lift bilstein shocks
the ride was awesome.. only problem is the ( $ 2100.00 ) 1500 for the lift and about 500-600 for installation, just to keep the warranty.. seems a little pricey for me

Jeez my gas mileage on my 2011 is 23+ mpg. Now I don't have huge tires. Just 325 70R 17. My new shoes are laced with kmc rims. Still my mileage is fair. Oh by the way, I drive like a grandma.

This is a common misconception.

The impact on the warranty will be no different than with any other 2" lift.

The lift components themselves come with little to no warranty, and any damage caused by the lift to other components won't be covered by any warranty.

Otherwise, your overall warranty is unaffected.

Thanks. Do i need a professional to do an aftermarket kit to not void any other warranty.? I just thought you had to get a mopar to keep the warranty in tact.. / I will look maybe for a RC/ or teraflex 2 or 2.5inch lift soon - (I hope )

Nope.

Just keep in mind that whatever your lift screws up isn't covered. For example, and I know this isn't you, but let's say you get a 4" lift that fries your driveshafts. Neither the lift not the driveshafts are covered by Chrysler.

Similarly, if your Uncle Cletus installs the lift in your front yard with duct tape and tooth picks and in the process dramatically goofs up your alignment thereby causing expensive front end problems, those front end problems won't be covered by Chrysler.

The same would be true if a shop goofed the install, but at least you could go after the shop.

thanks. makes sense. I just cannot see spending over $2K for a (2")lift.. If I can get the salesperson to take about half off the $1500(sticker) then maybe

Here is the one I test drove- on the sticker ( added option 2" mopar lift $2100 ) / It did ride nice too. but not that nice

I too looked at the lifts offered through the dealer. They are considered "performance accessories" so they are not covered. NOR is anything they claim failed because of the lift. These lifts do contain a whole lot more parts than what is sold in the aftermarket, so comparing price doesn't work.

Thanks. The one I drove, which is the mopar-bilstein 2" lift- the parts/and service dept. said it does not void the warranty on anything, as long as the lift is around 2-1/2" or less.. and they might be able to do the 4" without voiding warranties too (at least thats what they said ) If I get the 2" from them, I will have them put it in writing.. just not quite ready to spend $2100 just for the 2 inches of lift- then I will most certainly want new wheels and tires... another 2K... it can add up rather quickly !!! with the lift, you need a slightly wider tire ( or tire and wheel ) for the right look IMHO

They sure are clever folks aren't they?

Again to be clear, no lift will "void" your warranty--the result is simply that neither the lift nor any damage it causes will be covered. A 2" lift on a 4 door, if properly installed, will cause no damage.

By contrast, 4" lift will have significant repercussions throughout the vehicle. What the service people were saying was that they could install a very complete and thorough lift ($$$) to minimize those repercussions and thereby preserve as much warranty coverage as possible. Any decent shop install would be the same.

No difference from a warranty point of view. The pucks won't be covered nor would any damage they cause. 2.5" is a pretty big set of picks, but as far as I'm aware they don't cause any problems.

So what it really comes down to is how crappy of a day the service manager at your local dealer is having on the day you take your JK in. I can hear them telling me that the lift, being only 2" - 2.5" caused added and unusual stain on the transmission or differential. Knowing damn well that it was put together at 4:20 on Friday before a long weekend, and having nothing to do with the lift. And in the end the part not being covered. All though my local service manager did say with a small spacer lift, they could look past the addition of a lift and warranty any issues. It's rollin the dice.
