I have heard a lot of people gripe that the Mopar slush mats are too small and offer little coverage in their Jeeps. I've been wanting to get a set for the past year, but I keep coming back to that fear of "what if." Does anybody have pics of their slush mats (driver/passenger/rear) in a 2012 Unlimited? I have the plain Jane carpet mats and they are already showing some signs of wear... Thanks all...

i have the slush mats, front and back. The fronts are good, not great. I haven't washed my jeep in over 6 months and the interior is pretty clean besides the mats. I just clean em out every other week. it does a great job of holding in the whatever trash i step on. The sides though...not too good of keeping dirt in.

It does look great but it is too small, especially the rear for the 4dr. Theres a minimal gap which couldve been addressed.

I don't have too many pics (plus I'm sick and it is raining outside), but mine have been fine. I got them for (fairly) cheap on either ebay or amazon. The coverage is "OK" and they sides are not very high....but they look good....especially with door sill guards and Sahara side steps.

I wish I could provide pictures, but I replaced mine early on. I ordered them from factory as an option. They are too small as you have heard. I would not recommend.

Thanks for the pics panther... Get well soon (I've been nursing a cough for quite a while myself)... Any other pictures are more than welcome... I'd like to see how the mats are "to small"...

Mine is coming with a set, but I told the dealer to include the weathertech ones free of charge so I will have 2 sets or sell the slush ones or sell the WT
All depends on which is better....LOL

If you are gonna be getting rid of your Mopar ones, I'd be interested if the price is right... Let's keep 'em in the forum...

I have them in my 4 door.

In terms of size, they cover essentially the same area as your carpet mats. So if you don't think those are too small, then you won't think the slush mats are too small.

They're only "too small" in the sense that if you had muddy or slushy boots on (say, from stepping out of your jeep on the trail to set up a winch, etc.) the mats don't have any sort of raised edging that keeps the muck on the sides of your boots from ending up on the carpet on the side of your transmission or the door edging.

That's not anything anybody would really get upset about but for the fact that they have the LOOK of mats that are meant for that purpose, even though they don't quite satisfy it.

And that's because they are indeed MATS. Those that want more coverage are really looking for LINERS.

For example, Mopar slush mats:

Versus Weathertech Liners:

See the difference in coverage? That's what people mean when they say that the Mopar slush mats are "too small."

It's not that they're smaller than the carpet mats (they're not), it's that--despite being made of rubber and having a tough "get dirty" look--they in fact don't protect your carpet anymore than the typical carpet mats.

You can see in the pics how the Weathertech liner climbs up a few inches to cover some of the carpet over the transmission, whereas the Mopar slush mat does not. The same is true on the door side.

The only benefit they offer over typical carpet mats is that they are easier to clean (you can just hose them off), versus liners which are not only easier to clean but ALSO provide a few inches of coverage UP from the floor to help contain any muck.

First thing I noticed on day 1 was the tiny floor mats... if the Mopar slush mats are the same size I don't want them. The weathertech ones are the size the Mopar ones should be. Weathertech is pretty damned expensive though.

OK!
I will advise once my jeep arrives and they will go up for sale without a single step on them
Not sure what is reasonable though....

I get my packages in Detroit, so I can get USA pricing. I don't overpay in Canada anymore... I work too hard for my money. How are they priced? Do they have black to match black interior?

Black is always the default color unless you specify otherwise.
But even US pricing can be had for less

I always thought I'd never "buy" them but they came with the new 13 we just picked up and they are pretty nice. Thick and hold any kind of dirt well + easy to clean. Not worth the price tag but they are nice.

I agree.
I don't think the stock mats are too far off in cost

I just looked at my PayPal log.

Nov 15, 2012 Payment To Huffines Dodge Lewisville Inc. Completed ... -$59.98 USD

Qty Item Options Price
1 New O.E.M Mopar 2007-2012 Jeep Wrangler 4 Door Rubber Floor/Slush Mats
Item # 170941992431 $59.98 USD
Amount $59.98 USD

I got mine for $60 shipped. At that price, it was worth it. I don't think I would pay retail price for them.

I regret buying the Mopar mats. I will upgrade to Quadratecs and hopefully sell the Mopar mats. I would stay away from the Mopar mats. Weathertech is pretty damned ugly in my opinion. Quadratec or Rugged Ridge mats.

You should be able to find them cheap. They suck. Mine are going on craigslist. No reasonable offer refused.
