More lights, How to wire, Relay from OEM Fog
Hilldweller, you may be best to answer this but any experience is appreciated.
Just got the new bumper delivered from Aries Automotive. Looking forward to installing it Sat. It has tabs for 2 fogs so that will be coming soon. Don't know which ones yet but that 's not the issue. Planning on keeping the original fogs since the new bumper has cutouts for those as well. I was hoping to use the factory in dash switch bar but apparantly a circuit board is in the way so oh well. May do the pillar pod switch setup but
The question is how to wire the lights up. Should I use the factory fog power wire(s) to switch a relay with a separate direct feed from constant power to the relay / lights or would I be better off running the new lights in parallel to the ex. fogs off the ex. column switch? Would the existing column fog switch be overwhelmed by an additional say 100 watts twice (17 amps more +/-)? Is there going to be an alternator issue - does the stock one put out enough current.
