Motor oil standard MS 6395

For the 3.6, the owners manual says 5w-30 that meets Chrysler standard MS-6395. How important is this? Does it need to say this on a bottle of oil to be warranty compliant? I checked the backs of bottles on several brands of oil and some said it, some didn't. I've got 6 qts of Castrol from a previous vehicle I was planning on using. It does not say it meets the standard on the bottle, yet I cannot image there is anything wrong with Castrol for this, or any other, motor. Should I be concerned at all?

Nevermind. I looked on the Castrol website and it says it meets the specs.

Do you trust the web site or the bottle? Mobile 1 used to be MS-6395 but I hear it isn't anymore...

You heard correct -- Mobil1 synthetic no longer meets the Chrysler standard. Castrol Edge (formerly SynTec) does meet the spec (just checked a quart today in fact).

Must trust the quart you are buying, NOT a website exclusively. Web is good as a guide, but...
