My Jeep was getting a lot lower when the front end was all messed up. Now with top off I'm still mid 18 - 19 mpg. You see highway with top on. If I'm flying down the freeway (6th gear 2600 rpm -- 90mph btw with 3.21 gears) ill get 15 - 16mpg

Mine will evaporate gas at that rate - on the back of a tow truck.

No, just a big cork for the tank filler upper hole.

Right on, the most innacurate gauge in the world. Means nothing. Download the app "fuel log" if you really want to know real world numbers. Mine said 19-20 too. In reality it was 16.5

I always get worse gas mileage on the dash gauge then in real life. I can always trust teh dash gauge as being wrong but the longer I go without resetting it the close it gets to real numbers. After resetting it is usually a 2 to 4 mpg off, If I don't reset for several months, it gets to only around .8 mpg off on the high side.

My DIC has always been within .1 mpg's but I'm still totally stock. I have a '12 JKU manual with 3.73's and I'm in between 19.48 - 21.2 mostly city driving. Albuquerque is not a big city but there are a ton of stop lights, but I'm not cruising down the highway either. So far I'm very happy with my mileage.

Totally stock 09. I went from chicopee ma (look it up for those who are like "where the hell is that") to Cape Cod then back. Almost straight highway. Over 150 miles on less than 1/2 tank of gas used on the return side.

Must be something other than a RUBI with higher gearing, 3.21's or something. Congrats on the mileage. Before mods I was getting around 17, now 14.

It amazes me that all these pentastar owners are exceeding the factory estimated mpg. Rated at 21mpg highway and some folks are "getting" closer to 25mpg. Either they all drive like granny in cruise control at 55mph on the interstate or Just happy inflated glad to be out of my 3.8l mpg?

2012 JKU Sport. I get 15 to maybe 16 around town. I can get 20 on highway with cruise set to 65. If I go up to 70 then it drops to about 17.5-18. I have readylift leveling kit AEV bumpers and 33s. Sticker says 16 and 20 so I am happy I am getting same as what a stock should get.

I like the smiles per gallon someone mentioned.

Well............. I did have cruise on........
In all fairness I had my 5 yr old in the back seat and she was sleeping due to exhaustion from playing in the Atlantic Ocean on Cape Cod.
Daddy got knocked on his ass by a 4.5 ft breaker that jumped up at the last minute. Note to self: order seat towels or carry spare change of clothes. ::

I have an 09 JKU with about 28K miles. I've averaged 15-16 mpg. The past few thousand miles I've averaged around 18. This morning I checked it and it hit 19.2. That's the highest I've ever seen it go. Awesome.
