What do you do with music when going off-road?

Music while 4 wheeling or no?

When you exit the pavement what do you do with your music? Turn it up, turn it down, turn it off?

Me, I always wheel in silence. I want to listen to the machine and the sounds of nature.

The Allman Brothers seem to show up for all our rides.

If Im with friends or the 4-wheelers I wheel with I go with music. They stay fairly tame. When Im solo - I go as loud as I can handle.

I havent been to any trails where true guidance is required so Id keep it off for those instances.

Very low so I can hear the CB radio, but sometime off cause I like to hear her roar depending on the obstacle.

We turn ours off. We go to the woods and hills to get away from all the daily crap. In fact I listened to grass hoppers and the wind nearly all weekend out in West Texas this Independence day weekend. Quiet exhaust and slow crawling. occasional gun fire quit acceptable... (Grand kids must learn to shoot)

Depends. Some times a little ac/dc highway to hell fits the bill. A couple of years ago we did hell's revenge in a snow storm and my buddy cranked it up for all to hear it was funny.

Off or low, my day's in the 70's are pretty much done, no more AC/DC, Zeppelin , etc. . My Harley days are gone, Now when I go to work, I normally have CNN on the radio..Geezee, what happened to me? 7 Grandkids.... I guess I like the peace and quite now.. So, answer is if I listen, very low.. And yes, 2/3 years ago, I did see Ac/Dc again in Philly, saw them back in the 70's so I'm still into the music but at 4am going to work, peace and quite. Off road, little bit I do, music's off. Jad, you are my man! Highway to Hell always does it my man!

Off or low here too. The first time I when wheeling' I had it turned up. Soon after I turned it off. I wanted to hear the engine and tires on the ground. I drive a 6 speed so hearing RPM means a lot to me. Yes I can look a the tach but I listen and feel it too.

+1 on being able to hear your CB too if you are runnin' with a pack.

99% of the time off ... occasionally when I'm not 75 feet deep in a sheer wall canyon I'll pop on the news for five minutes to keep track of what's happening in the real word.

Had a guy in our club who would watch videos on this stereo screen ... yeah dude, whatever floats your boat.

Like many, the challenges and focus of off-roading help me focus on what's important.

At speed on rough terrain, prerunner style, music up... but the slower and more technical the lower the volume should go.

It's the exact same way for me in my S2000. If it's a cruise with friends in the mountains on winding roads, music is loud... if it's a technical section or I'm at a race track (road course) music is completely off.
