what is the purpose of the electrical hookup to the back of the back stead in the trunk? is that for the extra sub? also, i had the stubby antenna and it broke up, there is about an inch of plastic on the bottom where it screws in and it still works, just gotta get around to ordering a new one

hmmm,i didn even know they had the det yellow,,i like it,,yellow will forever be a jeep color..
i also liked the darker red but white was top for me.

cap,,that is a 1000watt kicker amp,,right now its running my factory enclosure,,i have an aftermarket sub in there that is much louder than factory..but i also have a couple sub boxes sitting around my house from my other cars that i have previously sold,,and if i hook one up you can hear me coming from a block away..only problem is i dont want a subbox in here until i can afford the jl stealthbox..

Glad to see some VA wranglers. I'm in richmond. You said you snowboard too? Do you ride at wintergreen or snowflex? I lived out in breckenridge for 2 months this winter and got to do plenty of contests. I also rode wtg probaly 30-40 times this year

You guys wind up within an hour from me at wtg. And within a rock throw (or two) of some very nice trails.

Also about 20 minutes from the jeep Jamboree site when it rolls through this area.

Seelye,

I like the chairlift sticker.. So how did you hook up that amp, your right about the stock one you can hardly hear it. Nothing beats a good tub thumpin.

doc,,i used an in-line level and bypassed the factory amp and i have a remote gain leaving me to be able to control sub alone like a sub channel without a sub channel.

turning up my remote does not effect my mids or highs, only sub.

it works great but the amp i am using is quite big for an 8 inch sub..but all i have to do is disconnect the speaker cables from amp and run another set from amp to a sub box and then this sucker will hit..

i have a solobaric L7 in a custom ported enclosure and i put it in my trunk to see what it would sound like and "holy hell" my neighbors were not that thrilled

Seelye,

Most of that sounded greek to me, do you have a picture for us simple folk on where and what you put in place to bypass the amp? dont worry if you dont. Pictures help us old folk that colour by numbers.

Spots look good, I like the jeep logo.

Nick.

Yup, that's a seriously bitchin' 3.8 . . .

Oh, wait, you were refering to the hoodlift. Yeah that's cool too.

I don't know which one you purchased, but I have this one on my Jeep. I live in a fairly rural area and have no reception problems...

I got the one from antennax.com, which is a flexible one. The reception was really bad. I am going to try the one you listed. What length should I get?
