I just stumbled in while researching upper half slider doors. I just bought my JK a few weeks ago, traded my 2008 Tacoma 4dr for the Jeep. I have had a few in the past a YJ and TJ, but really liking my JK not too sure about the 3.6L but maybe it will be ok. Jeep only had 20 miles on it when I picked it up my only requirement was it had to be 4dr and have half steel doors, my wife picked the color. Dealer also tossed on a set of 18inch wheels with 255 A/T’s form a Sahara they had for free. Had to take it back so they could recalibrate it for the larger tires but other than that all good.
But I sold the OEM Steps to a friend and put on a set of Rugged Ridge RRC Side Armor, But tomorrow my Rugged Ridge front winch bumper should be here.
Still on the lot about to drive home.
My Steps on.
Built an overhead consul built and installed, would have been cheaper to have just bought the one Smittybuilt, built I like mine.
Did you request Sahara wheels/tires on your Sport? Love the half doors, very nice.
I did not realize they were not the stock wheels/tires until I noticed my speedometer was off and called the sales man and asked about it. He said they sold someone a Sahara and he wanted to upgrade wheels and tire and traded those in so they tossed them on this Jeep as a free upgrade
As far as the wheel/tire combo they hooked me up with. I like them, love the stance it gives the Jeep but I want BIGGER *L* The friend I sold the steps to also has given me a set of new 17inch stock wheels so I might have some more aggressive tires mounted on them I just have to pay to have her stock tires taken off as soon as I go get them from her garage. But that is only 50 bucks. Mud tires for the 18inch wheel is much higher priced than 17's. But I prefer the stock wheel look with some meat on it.
Got my Rugged Ridge bumper installed today, have to say I really do like it, not just to get a winch.
This is step 2 of my Plastic be gone project, First was the stock steps pulled off and some Rugged Ridge RRC Side Armor Guards, Step 2 is the Rugged Ridge Winch Mount Modular XHD Front Bumper, some where down the line is the rear Rugged Ridge bumper, with tire carrier, and some metal flat fenders.
