Looks like she was able to get it replaced, minus some sort of penalty (maybe, it's unclear).

(TB3XNQC) Travel Bug Dog Tag - Big Yellow, NO RED, Jeep *signatures welcome

In the 13 months that I owned the big Yellow Jeep, which by the way I LOVED (except for the breaking down part) More than any other vehicle I have ever owned, it was broke down more than either of the two previously owned used Jeeps.

16,000 Miles in it was broke down and needed a motherboard. It was a mess every single day after that.

It took me request after request and 13 months to convience Chrysler to replace the Big Yellow Jeep with the NEW 2013 Rock Lobster Rubicon.

The hard part is that I loved the yellow one so very much. Every single time I drove down the road in the Yellow one it gave me pleasure to watch people as it went by with over 500 geocaching signatures on it.

The names cost me money in the end with Chrysler but in my mind it was worth every cent paid.

The signatures were traced onto transparency film and I am planning to transfer them all to the new one. I am thinking this one is gonna be called the Tomato. Because we already had a lemon, it sounded good to us. LOL

I cant wait to have an event and share the new one with all the people who have followed the big yellow jeep over the past 13 months and I cant wait to discover new geocaching adventures in the Big Red Tomato hehe

TALK TO AN ATTORNEY!!!!

Under Washington State Lemon Law you could sue and win given the multitude of issues you have had. I know this because I sued Nissan and won even though I didn't meet every aspect of the legal code. Google lemon law attorneys and fill out their free questionaire. I did this with my Frontier and got a phone call in less than twelve hours. They sent me engagement documents and six weeks later we settled my case.

I really fought myself internally over trying the lemon law but when I found out I wouldn't get my truck back for a labor day weekend trip that required my truck, I did my attorney search Friday afternoon at work. Got the call Saturday morning. Boy am I glad I did that.

Your state may vary but at least talk with an attorney. I took delivery in May of 2010 and didn't start legal work for over a year.

Good luck and post back if you try the attorney route.

2. March 2012 I was driving along in Stanton Ky when it just died. The motherboard went out on it. The police came and rescued me and they towed it into the dealership and it was there 19 days ! They called me at one point to come get it and I drove to Hurricane and before I could get there they called and said, Don't come, it blew the motherboard AGAIN when we test drove it.
3. April 10 I made the first request to Chrysler for the Lemon Law. The turned me down and Patti who was my rep said it was because to qualify I needed 30 days of non use in the first year.
4. May 7 the check engine light was on again and it went into the shop again for 8 more days. 5. The check engine light comes on constantly and I am scared to go anyplace because it isn't dependable and so far the 16,000 miles that it has gone has left me stranded more than once.
6. The spark plugs were out on it and it had a miss in two spots and they took it in to fix that.
7. The Remote start works intermitently which they later said was due to the Motherboard.
8. The seals along the glass on the passenger side leak and they replace those in May.
9. The right front passenger floor board has about 2 inches of water in it anytime you run the air conditioner. This remains true to this day.
10. October 23 the check engine light comes on again and when you try to drive it it doesn't want to go. You can press the gas pedal and it doesn't go. Once again it went in to Courts Motors and they had it for 8 days.
11. They replaced the head because #4 cal had a misfire and it was bad and needed a new Head on the Engine.
12. I once again contacted Chrysler and asked them to give me the Lemon Law on it and this time the guy said He couldn't give me a reason. Said they are not allowed to tell me why they are turning me down and that anyone who previously told me why was in error. That was November 15.
13. December 8 I was driving up the four lane when it just suddenly died. I pulled over and waited a second and started it back after tears and cussing and the light flashes and beeps and the manual says, Pull over and stop ! Its parked out front now and I have no vehicle AGAIN ! Tomorrow I will have to figure out how to get my child to school or live my life. 40,000 dollars. FORTY THOUSAND DOLLARS !!!
I will again ask tomorrow what the snot Chrysler is willing to do to make right their promise to providing me with a safe, dependable Jeep for that money. The jeep has only 32,133 miles on it now.
It has 0ver 620 signatures from Geocachers from across the country on it and to be honest, now its a bit embarrassing that I can't offer to take anyone for a ride because Im scared It will break down before we get there.
Im not saying that JEEPS on the whole are junk. I love that JEEP and wanted to drive it for years and years to come. But I am saying that this particular one is a very good example of what a LEMON is and that this particular one is certainly NOT what a person who plunks down 40,000 dollars expects to get from a brand new jeep within the first 32,000 miles
Just saying....

But it is so my baby. The jeep was the logbook for a geocaching event that made national attention. I held the "little" event in my yard and it accidentally went "MEGA" and 518 people showed up.

The event brought 605,000 to my tiny town Home Page

I love the signatures ! I had no intentions of ever ever ever selling it. People say all the time that the resale value is down because of the signatures and I always say, I had no plans of selling it...I bought it to roll down a mountain...Not resale

The only problem I have with it is that....Well, it looks way better on the highway than it looks on a rollback heading back and forth to the dealership.

I should have put the exact price instead of the exaggerated price that was rounded up. It was 38,000 ish and yes it was the loaded up version. I didn't mind paying that for it when it was running

I asked Chrysler today to let me start yet another claim but they said I can't until It is in the shop and has a diagnosis so it will be in the shop tomorrow and our paper work is in the attorneys hands now. I will ask them nicely again tomorrow to replace it or refund the cost of it. I have little faith in them at this point so I imagine they will turn me down again.

The signatures are VERY sentimental to me and it makes me happy every single time I look out and see them there. I hope to drive it to Washington State in the summer and gather even more player signatures on it.

I know I would not want any signature on my Jeep but as you say "it is so my baby" and if you don't mind and it does look cool that so many people like your jeep then go for it.
