My 25 day nightmare finally comes to an end

I have been waiting on this bumper since 2/23 and finally got an undamaged one today and had time to mount it.

I should have my cargo restraints monday and then the next project is wheels and tires. I'm thinking about running 15's and 33" mickey thompson mtz's but with everyone else on the site talking about how much they love their duratracs I'm considering them too.

Here is a pic of the bumper and winch that I took just before sundown. I'll get some better pics up tomorrow.

looks good man. I bet all that waiting isn't as painful now when you walk into the garage and see your jeep looking like it does now

you are right sir. The worst part of the whole deal was that I had three damaged bumpers in my hands over the last couple weeks and had to return them. I was so close.

They guys at Quadratec came through for me though

Yes 3 damaged and 4 total. Isn't it crazy?? The Q guys sent me all the ones they had in their warehouse.

This is actually the 4th one I received and the only one that wasn't damaged because it was drop shipped from smittybilt and the Q guys told them to bulletproof the hell out of it.

UPS sucks

Wow. That's unbelievable.

Out of everything I've ordered for my Jeep, only my Tuffy security deck was damaged in any way (also by UPS). 4wd had a new one on my doorstep in 2 days.

Number 4 looks good on your Jeep, though.

Just think, If it damages that easy while shipping, how well is it gonna hold up on the trail.....

It wasn't bent or anything. It was just ground down through the powdercoat to the bare metal on several spots where it broke through the box and looked like it had been drug across asphalt

Yep. It's unbelievable to be honest.

I think it's a toss up between the manufacturer's fault for putting abumper that weighs 115 lbs in a standard 1/4" thick cardboard box with no padding or packaging material to speak of. And UPS for treating it like just another package and throwing it around and all

I would agree. it's the shipper's responsibility to package it well and UPS to realize that the thing is heavy as hell and must be something of some sort of value. I sold a down pipe to someone one time and I bubble wrapped the SHIT OUT OF IT and when the guy received it he responded "hey, just wanted to thank you for making sure it was packaged so well, thanks a lot!"

It really is all about the packing. It was almost over packed today if there is such a thing, but it sure was spotless and worthy of being put on. Whoever packed it did a damn good job, every corner was double wrapped with heavy heavy paper and plastic wrap and then styrofoam layers all over the whole bumper
