My All White 2012 JKUR

first off, i want to thank everyone on this board for all of the great information in helping me with the planning and execution of my hopefully long and enjoyable jeep journey.

i have been a land rover guy for several years now and currently own an '05 LR3 and an '03 D2. both of which are built up pretty well and used as they were intended to be used offroad. however, after going to the 2010 national land rover rally in moab last year and seeing a 2010 JKUR in action, i got the jeep bug. we came very close to buying a 2011 last fall, but decided to hold off as i had another year of residency left, and we were intrigued with the possibility of a new engine.

as soon as the 2012's hit the showroom floors, i was making trips to different dealers for test drives. my wife and i were sold on getting one after driving a 2012 with the top down for a bit. now the problem was which dealer to order from. we are currently living in nashville but moving back home to oklahoma in the summer. after visiting about every jeep dealership in the nashville area, we just couldn't order from these guys. one sales guy insulted me for pulling up to the dealership in a land rover and continued to bash the rover while he sat in the back seat during the test drive of the jeep. another sales guy asked me if wanted my new rubicon in 2 or 4 wheel drive. seriously??? these guys were not going to get my business.

we then decided to try the dealerships back in oklahoma since we will be moving back in 6 months or so. i had heard good things about bob moore chrysler jeep dodge in OKC. so, i began a long distance order process with them even though i had never met them in person. it ended up being an unbelievably great experience! it was however complicated! i am not a big fan of financing, but i couldn't turn down the 0% financing. it ended up being a great deal as we were able to roll the cost of a bunch of mods onto the cost of the jeep to be financed in total. it was a hefty price but allowed me to get a bunch of future mods done now.

we ordered my all white 2012 JKUR from bob moore on 10/28/2011. jason jones was our sales guy, and he was fantastic. he kept us posted throughout the process and coordinated the ordering and install of the mods. the mods we had them order and install included an AEV 3.5" lift, AEV front/rear bumpers, AEV CHMSL, AEV silver pintlers, 35" BFG KM2s, and AFE Y pipe. the jeep was delivered to the dealership in OKC on 12/2. we then made the trip to OKC for the holidays and purchased it on tuesday 12/6. after a one mile test drive we left it at the dealer for the next 4 days to have the mods installed. it was tough buying a new car and leaving it, but it was well worth it as they did a fantastic job with the install!

since picking it up less than 2 weeks ago, we've already put over 1,300 miles on it. we are absolutely loving it. the AEV suspension drives great! i've included a few pics of the jeep at time of delivery, immediately after mods installation, and after the first brief wheeling trip. i'll try to post some pics as the build progresses. there's a few small jeep parts sitting under the tree. and once again, thanks for all of the great help and advice over the past year!

thanks! it rides great! as good or better than stock. it has no problem doing 80mph. and the 4.10 gears with the 35"s is just fine.

Looks good! I'm not a fan of body matching fenders and top, especially on a Rubicon, but it looks good in white.

i just took these with my cell phone, so they aren't great but you get the idea. i really like how the AEV rear tire carrier functions with the factory tailgate to open in one motion. on my LR3 i have a separate swing away that gets a bit annoying with the way the LR3 tailgate opens.

yeah, i really like the look of the black fenders/top on most jeeps, especially the brighter colors. i have always been drawn to the all white jeeps and the retro look. the overland wrangler concept a few years ago was pretty inspirational for me.

i know how much the top and flares are going to get scratched up on the trails, but i have prepared myself for it.

my favorite color currently though is the crush with the black flares/tops. i love it, but am not sure if i would love it in 10 years. we are planning on keeping this jeep for a long, long time.

Perfect... I will be ordering a 2012 White Rubicon if my new job pans out.

If the wheels were black it would be exactly what I wanted!

i took the top off the other day to take out the soft top. it is definitely going to be difficult to keep the white top from getting scratched up during the removal/install process. the black top would have been much easier to deal with. i think i am going to get a pulley system setup in the garage eventually.

Nice!

I bought the antithetical color. Does that mean I'm an evil person? Nope, just like black.

That is a beautiful Jeep!

I'm trying to convince the wife how much I 'need' the AEV lift and bumpers. So far it's not working out so well...

Very nice pictures, too.

Congratulations to you on your new jeep. I'm sure you and your wife will LOVE it I've been giving that rear bumper a lot of thought, with the storage for water on extended off road trips. Be great for showers/washing up/etc... Think I'd want to somehow make that white cap black though, less visible you know? Lessen the chance of some idiot putting something else in there.

Again, congrats, and great job choosing your mods.

Your Jeep is BA

Mine's all white too, so I already love that choice. Great job with the mods. You're jeep looks BA. I don't even like 4D's, and I gotta admit, looking at yours I thought, "You know, a 4D wouldn't have been so bad..."

Congrats and enjoy.

thanks everyone for the kind words!

thanks for the link kbwwolf. that may be the one i go with

cg3, i think i am going to try to plastidip on the cap. yeah, i wouldn't be surprised if someone were to unscrew it and take it or put something in the tank.

i really like the silver pintlers. i thought about argent and black but i wanted to keep it more stock looking. i previously had black wheels on our discovery, and my LR3 currently has black wheels. i really wanted some retro wheels powdercoated white put on the jeep. i've tried the white wheel thing on the discovery and it is just too much of a pain when wheeling, so i went with the silver pintlers. i also debated keeping the stock wheels and using spacers, but i was just too unsure about the spacers.

Good call on the spacers. Or lack thereof. Don't much like em, myself...

Merry wheeling!

thanks again everyone! yeah, i love the argent pintlers but thought the silver fit real well with the all white. i would have loved to have found some retro wheels that i could have powdercoated white, but they are just too much of a pain to keep looking nice.

i put on AEV rear mud flaps, husky front mud flaps, and new phillips head light bulbs today. fun times!

It's almost Christmas Eve...no need for anything immediate. Just keep it in mind...when you get time!

so here's a few pics of installs i have done this week, ie my christmas presents. a few of them are pretty generic on this forum, but i always liked seeing more pics of things before i bought them. new mods included ACE rock rails, AEV winch delete plate (saving up for the winch), stubby antenna x, front husky mud flaps, rear AEV mudflaps, rugged ridge rear tail light covers and new phillips headlight bulbs. on a side note, i got the rugged ridge front head light covers but when installed they don't allow enough clearance between them and and the AEV bull bar to allow the grill to go back on, so they are boxed back up.
